Bundesliga: Leverkusen vs Dortmund Player Ratings as Leverkusen obliterates Haaland-less Dortmund at the Signal Iduna
Leverkusen vs Dortmund: In an entertaining match which took place at the Signal Iduna Park Leverkusen showed a brilliant counter-attacking display and won the game 2-5. Dortmund was dominating the possession early on but was hurt by Zagadou’s mistake which was put in their own net by Akanji. Dortmund regrouped and scored a goal with Frimpong turning it into his own net.
Leverkusen looked dangerous on the counter and created many chances. Florian Wirtz finished off a wonderful counter-attack in the 20th minute and gave Leverkusen a 2-1 lead. Robert Andrich scored a wonderful freekick and then Leverkusen dominated. Goals from Jonathan Tah and Moussia Diaby gave Leverkusen a 5-1 lead until Tigges pulled one back for Dortmund but it was too late. Overall Leverkusen would be pleased with the performance.

Gregor Kobel(GK) (7/10): Kobel was stable but couldn’t save any of the 5 goals which he conceded today.
Thomas Meunier(7.5/10): He had a tough time dealing with Diaby and Schick but played the part in equalling Dortmund in the first half.
Manuel Akanji(7/10): Akanji had a poor game as he lost possession a lot of times and made some bad passes. He scored an own goal and conceded 5 goals.
Dan-Axel Zagadou (6.5/10): Zagadou had a poor game. He gave the ball cheaply which resulted in the first goal for Leverkusen.
Raphael Guerreiro(7/10): Guerreiro had an average game and was dispossessed many times and was futile in attack.
Julian Brandt( 8/10): Brandt passed the ball well and always was finding a runner to pass to. He was the best player for Dortmund on the pitch. He was everywhere and assisted for the first goal.
Mahmoud Dahoud(7.5/10): Dahoud made some positive passes into the midfield and played well.He was looking dangerous but had an off day. His clever turns and shots troubled the Leverkusen defence.
Jude Bellingham (7.5/10): Bellingham was decent and looked dangerous. His composure brought calm in the midfield. Although on the losing end , he was impactful.
Marco Reus(7/10): Reus looked rusty and made some questionable decisions on the pitch. He lacked the preciseness of the pass today
Donyell Malen(7/10): Malen was poor today. He was expected to fill in the boots of Erling Haaland but failed to live up to the expectation.
Thorgan Hazard(7/10): Hazard was quiet and made little effort in the press. His touches were poor and could have been better.

Steffen Tigges(8.5/10): He looked lively after he came on for Reus. Made some promising runs and scored a goal.

Lennart Grill (GK)(7/10): Grill was rather free in the game but produced a fine save but couldn’t stop the own goal and Tigges.
Jeremie Frimpong(8/10): Frimpong was ever lively with the ball and was a threat from the right flank. He performed his defensive duties really well .
Piero Hincapié (7.5/10): Hincapie was solid at the back and neutralised the Dortmund attack with elegance.
Jonathan Tah (8.5/10): Tah along with Hincapie was solid and made important blocks and scored a wonderful goal from the corner.
Mitchel Bakker(8/10): The former PSG man was great today. His through balls were precise and was a constant threat to the Dortmund backline.
Robert Andrich (8.5/10): Andrich was the star man yet again. He scored a sumptuous free kick for Leverkusen and was the showrunner in the midfield.
Kerem Demirbay (7.5/10): Demirbay was tidy in possession and made important blocks which were important and tidy. Though he made some silly fouls but some of his through balls were exquisite.
Karim Bellarabi (7/10): He started the game well but became invisible after the first half. He maintained possession well.
Florian Wirtz(8.5/10): A goal and assist for the German who was a star man for this Leverkusen side. His energy and precision was the game-changer.
Moussa Diaby(8.5/10): Diaby was involved in almost everything and was a constant threat. Though he was wasteful sometimes, his energy was a menace to the Dortmund defence. He sealed the win for Leverkusen by a sleek goal at the death.
Patrik Schick(8.5/10): The Czech national continued his impeccable form and was involved in the first goal. His towering presence made the Leverkusen attack look deadly.
Substitutions:
Odilon Kossounou(7.5/10): He was introduced for Bellarbi and did his job fairly well. He was tidy in possession and rotated possession well.
Lucas Alario(7.5/10): He replaced Schick and made no mistake on the pitch. He was good in possession.
