C.J. Stroud reveals beef with Indianapolis Colts fanbase, is eager for Week 1 matchup against the AFC rivals
Colts linebackers warned Stroud to watch out for them earlier in the off-season.
C.J. Stroud
One would think that the Indianapolis Colts fanbase would have bigger woes than hating on other teams but despite their disappointing season, the fans did not spare Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud and let him know that they despise him. The Colts secured the win over the Texans in Week 2 of the 2023-24 season but ultimately, it was the latter that ended up having a successful year.
This season, the Houston Texans kick their season off by playing the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1. Recently, linebackers of the latter team, Zaire Franklin and E.J. Speed took a jibe at C.J. Stroud and called him out by warning him, “I need to see that boy again” and Speed claimed that he intends to “mess C.J. up for the rest of his career.”
The quarterback responded to these threats via the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast.
A lot of dudes come on these podcasts, 'Oh yeah, I'm, going to hit C.J. in his face, I'm going to get him next year.' Where I'm from, we say, 'Why didn't you do something when you were mad? You were mad right there. Do something...You could have shut me up right there, but you didn't. So what makes you think you're gonna do it now? And if you do, I'm gonna come back, bro. For real. This ain't for no play...C.J. Stroud said
The young quarterback responded with a threat of his own. Stroud made it clear that he remains unfazed by their comments.
C.J. Stroud is hyped about the Texans-Colts rivalry and is looking forward to their Week 1 matchup
He called them out for talking about it and not doing something about it when they had the opportunity to. Words do not mean much when you had a chance to take action but did not. Things are heating up between the Colts and Stroud.
The quarterback is excited at the prospect of this new rivalry.
It's going to be rocking, Indy hates me already and I love it.Stroud said via Houston Chronicle
The quarterback gave the linebackers their respect, he admitted that they do have game and can play well but at the same time, he is not going to back off when challenged.

Houston, you got a good one in Stroud. There are a lot of quarterbacks who would back off or have laughed it off by offering a neutral comment. But Stroud made it clear that he is not to be messed with. He returned their warning with an even bigger warning. This just makes it all the more exciting to see how the Week 1 matchup between the two teams goes!
