Caitlin Clark is now at the USA Basketball camp in Miami, Florida, before she and her fellow national team members head to Puerto Rico to participate in the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.
It will be her first senior team international experience, and the first chance for her to cement her status as one of the most important players for the future of Team USA’s goal to retain its dominance.
She will be one of the undisputed stars at this tournament. With TNT Sports signing a deal with FIBA, Americans will be able to watch her, as will the rest of the world.
However, before the games start, even her ardent fans were not prepared for her to trump a couple of Hall of Famers and a Hollywood icon. Enter Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, and the great Samuel L. Jackson.
The latter three are already brand ambassadors for Capital One. Now, the $116 billion earning conglomerate roped in Caitlin Clark to star alongside those greats in a new commercial.
The commercial starts with Johnson, Barkley, and Jackson sitting at a diner. When the latter mentions ‘3 %,’ the Indiana Fever guard turns around, picks a burger off the waitress’s tray, and shoots it straight onto Barkley’s plate.

She continues to shoot in threes, be it three ice cream scoops for Johnson, or shooting donuts into their popcorn tubs, with the last one bouncing off the Round Mound of Rebound’s face.
This commercial has since gone viral on social media for its fun factor, as none of her fans expected Clark to be the focal point of a commercial featuring two great basketball players and one acting legend.
Caitlin Clark had fun shooting Capital One commercial
Capital One will be broadcasting this commercial throughout this season’s March Madness games. Before its first public release, Caitlin Clark shared some behind-the-scenes footage from this shoot.
In the first frame, Magic Johnson greets her with the words, ‘Triple threat.’ Then, she goes on to meet Charles Barkley for the first time. The latter has been a major support to her, especially when the Fever star was facing some petty jealousy from her peers during her rookie season.
Then, Samuel L. Jackson trudges in with his trademark walk and greets Clark with an embrace. The guard mentioned that it was the first time she was meeting three people she had grown up watching.
A while later, with the three veterans sitting inside the diner, the Iowa native attempts to throw a paper ball towards Barkley, only for it to hit the hanging lampshade.
The Hall of Famer, along with Johnson and Jackson, were laughing at the thought of her shot almost causing the lamp to fall onto the table. After she again tries, the paper ball lands perfectly in Barkley’s hands. They depart at the end of the shoot, still grinning about their experience.
Caitlin Clark calls game at USA Basketball shooting drill
Back at the Miami Heat’s practice facilities, Caitlin Clark and USA Basketball underwent a shakedown, as most of her fellow teammates had just finished playing 3×3 basketball, which is fundamentally a lot different from 5×5.

Usually, WNBA teams end practice with a half-court shootout between their players. But in this instance, USA Basketball decided to pit two teams against each other in a three-point shootout.
With a mix of vets and young players on both sides, the two sets started off hitting threes consistently. Then, as their arms got tired, the gray and red teams missed a shot.

At this point, it was Caitlin Clark’s turn to shoot the ball, and she calmly launched a three-pointer that touched nothing but net. Instantly, her teammates wearing all red rejoiced in winning the drill.
