It has been a while since Caitlin Clark revealed her relationship with fellow Iowa Hawkeye basketball star, Connor McCaffery. The two have become one of women’s basketball’s famous couples over the years.

After his time with Iowa ended, he moved along with his famous girlfriend to the city of Indianapolis. At first, he joined the Pacers as an assistant coach. Soon, it became evident that he needed more ground level coaching education, and moved to Butler University.

Now that the two are in the same city, it helps their relationship as McCaffery often appears courtside to support his girlfriend whenever she plays for the Indiana Fever at home. He was again present when Clark took on college rival and friend, Paige Bueckers, in their last game.

The Fever won the game easily, dominating the Dallas Wings by 20 points for much of the 2nd half. Along with Clark’s double-double, it happened to be the best gift she could give McCaffery on his birthday. She then topped it with a post on IG.

Happy happy happy birthday con. You make everyday better and I couldn’t be more grateful. May this be the best year yet. I love you.

The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year does not shy away from openly talk about her relationship. She might not speak about Connor McCaffery with reporters, but posts enough about him whenever she can.

Caitlin Clark talks about her friendship with Paige Bueckers

The game between the Indiana Fever and the Dallas Wings was the first meeting between Clark and Paige Bueckers since the 2024 NCAA Final Four matchup. When asked about her relationship with the Wings star, Clark replied:

We’ve always been friends. I wouldn’t say we’re best friends and talk all the time. It’s hard when you end up going your separate ways and are at different colleges… I’ve always been a fan of hers and always been supportive.

Caitlin Clark said to reporters

The 23-year-old praised her college rival’s confidence, leadership and competitive drive. Caitlin Clark clarified that it is difficult to always talk to each other considering they were on separate teams despite knowing each other since their high-school basketball days.

Bueckers had another great night, scoring 21 points. However, it was not enough for her Wings as they lost to the Fever 83-102. The fellow No. 1 overall picks are set to battle next on August 1st at the American Airlines Center, where they were originally expected to battle before Clark’s injury.

Caitlin Clark addresses recent shooting woes

In that win over the Dallas Wings, Caitlin Clark notched 14 points, 13 assists, 5 steals and 3 rebounds. It was a much better overall game for the Indiana Fever superstar. However, her shooting woes from three-point range continue.

I don’t think it’s anything mechanically wrong, or something wrong with my shot, it’s just basketball…. The best in the world go through it…. The thing i always fall back on is i know how hard i’ve worked…. I’m never gonna stop shooting until I break out of it.

The Iowa alum said this before the game against Dallas. After the game, her 6-42 from three-point range, or approximately 14% over the past 6 games, happens to be the worst stretch of her college and WNBA career.

The next two games are on the road, and Clark has generally struggled this season away from home. If she manages to break the trend, the Indiana Fever could finish their run before the All-Star break with 4 straight wins.
