Some NFL teams are busy fine-tuning their offense with their starting quarterbacks. Others are figuring out the direction they want to go after signing multiple options. Now, another player in the form of Caitlin Clark throws her hat into the ring.

She is busy working her way back from the groin injury that has kept her out of the past few games. The Indiana Fever needs their superstar back to orchestrate their offense, which has been inconsistent at best.

The team is continuing to work on their offense as they are yet to launch a streak of wins which can help them climb up the table. That has led to some experiments with Clark playing off the ball, as they look towards maximizing her talents.

The 23-year-old built up arm strength over the offseason to add zip to her already electric court vision. Earlier in Fever practice, she gave a glimpse of what all she can do with the added muscle in her right arm.

The point guard was seen clutching a football, and casually launching the entire 94 feet length of the court. After receiving the pigskin back, she rolled to her left, faked a hesitation, turned around and threw another rocket off her front leg.

The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year has a penchant for football and is a die-hard fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Last season, she watched one of their games in the VIP suites alongside Taylor Swift.

The Iowa native has also revealed that her family are Chiefs fanatics. But football fans did not see this coming from the most popular women’s athlete in the entire world.

Football fans swoon watching Caitlin Clark firing rockets

To the traditional football fan, the distance on those throws might not have been enough to excite them. However, the video revealed Caitlin Clark‘s arm talent. Coupled with her already well-known awareness and vision, football fans believe she has what it takes to give some NFL QBs sleepless nights.

Fans pointed at the quarterback situation in Indianapolis, where three QBs are vying for the starting job. They believe she could just walk the 5 minutes it takes to reach Lucas Oil Stadium and join the QB battle.

Even if it is not with the Colts, by the time the WNBA season ends, teams could reach out and bring her in as a backup quarterback. Then, as the season progresses, they can send her onto the gridiron to help her turn a team’s fortunes around. Examples of such reactions are listed below:

The jokes about Caitlin Clark being a quarterback in the National Football League aside, it paints a different picture about the state of the most important position in the game.

There are good to great quarterbacks, and there are those that are not adequate. Fans believe bringing the WNBA star in could embarrass some of them and maybe even motivate them to play better.

Colts QB situation still unclear

Most of the jokes surrounding Caitlin Clark’s football skills were directed at the Indianapolis Colts. Their quarterback situation has warranted such jokes as the coaching staff are yet to decide if either Anthony Richardson, Daniel Jones, or Riley Leonard would start.

Leonard is still seen as an option for the future, which leaves the starting battle between Richardson and Jones, something to watch out for. The former’s questionable play, along with concerns over his ability to battle against grown men, dominated headlines.

The latter had his worst season in the NFL and was out before the New York Giants’ season became any worse. The 28-year-old is hoping to use this opportunity with the Colts to rebuild his reputation and prove that he belongs in the NFL.

The next few weeks will give a clearer picture. Right now, rumors are that Daniel Jones has the edge. That could change if Anthony Richardson pulls up his socks and gets his mind in the right place.
