Caitlin Clark Could Win 1st Major Silverware After Leading Fever to Commissioner’s Cup Finals
Caitlin Clark has not won a major piece of silverware in her 6 years of playing college and professional level basketball.

Caitlin Clark had a college career that many would dream of replicating. She went on to become the all-time leading scorer irrespective of gender and amassed several personal accolades. Yet, she could not lead her Iowa Hawkeyes to an NCAA Championship win after facing stellar programs in the Finals.
The first one, she lost to Angel Reese‘s LSU Tigers, and the second to Kamilla Cardoso‘s South Carolina. Both programs had a much more balanced squad, whereas the Hawkeyes were solely dependent on their lone 5-star player in Clark.
That lack of championships saw her slide down the rankings among the greatest female college basketball players. Now in her 2nd season in the WNBA with the Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark and her retooled squad are hoping her lack of silverware will change.
Before this season started, she made it clear that she and her teammates only have championships on their minds. Even though they have not started as well as some of the top teams, they do have a squad to fight for the title later this season.
The New York Liberty defeated the Atlanta Dream in their match earlier, which left the Dream a game behind the Liberty and the Indiana Fever in the Eastern Conference Commissioner’s Cup standings. The Fever won against the Liberty in their previous game, giving them the head-to-head tie-breaker.

After their latest feisty win against the Connecticut Sun, the Indianapolis-based team booked their spot in the Commissioner’s Cup championship game along with the Minnesota Lynx. That means Caitlin Clark will get the chance to win her 1st piece of silverware come July 1st.
Caitlin Clark and Fever have five games to build up form
The Indiana Fever have won both their games since Caitlin Clark returned to the lineup. However, both these wins were without DeWanna Bonner in the lineup. It is unknown how long she will be out as she deals with personal issues, but either way, the team hopes she returns soon to bolster their squad.

The Fever might be playing at a high level, but their team still has to iron out a lot of their chemistry issues. Their Commissioner’s Cup opponents happen to be the defending champions as well as last season’s WNBA Finalists.
The Minnesota Lynx have been playing together for a full season and know each other’s quirks quite well. On top of that, Napheesa Collier is playing the best basketball of her career and would like to add another Commissioner’s Cup winner’s trophy as well as the $50,000 individual cash prize to her kitty.
If Caitlin Clark and her teammates are to win, they have 5 games to figure out their nuances. Three of those games are winnable, leaving the two back-to-back battles against the Las Vegas Aces and Seattle Storm to contend with.
The former are having some troubles as of now, but should have A’ja Wilson back from concussion protocol by then. The Storm, however, are on form and are threatening to become the best in the league. The Fever will know just how much they need to work based on their performance in these two games.
Caitlin Clark reposts her long-range three that rattled rival Jacy Sheldon and Sun
The game against the Connecticut Sun was marred by scuffles and trash talk as Caitlin Clark resumed her battles with longtime collegiate rival Jacy Sheldon. The two were jawing at each other throughout the game.
Later on, that trash talk turned into a brawl, and it changed the dynamic of the game. But Clark and Sheldon did not stop, and their battles of words continued until head coach Stephanie White pulled the Fever superstar from the game.

The Iowa star did not talk about the scuffle during the post-game press conference. However, she later reposted a clip of her shooting a long-range three that managed to rattle both her rival and the Sun to her X timeline. That was probably her way of getting back at Sheldon.
