Caitlin Clark emphasises a championship is the goal in second WNBA season
Indiana Fever brought in a plethora of veterans to join Caitlin Clark in their quest to win a WNBA championship this season.

Caitlin Clark and Indiana Fever set goal to win championship
Caitlin Clark is about to start her sophomore season in the WNBA. The Indiana Fever superstar has witnessed her franchise overhaul the roster and bring in veterans with championship-winning experience to help the young core develop to become a contender.
Clark prioritized rest and developing her skills, and working on her body to get stronger. The results have sent fans into a tizzy as she looks to have gained bulk, become stronger, and has been working to add some moves to her arsenal.
Now, she will look to build on her rookie season, where she steadily became an MVP contender. Along with her new experienced teammates, the hype surrounding this season is high. Reporters at the Fever media day asked the 23-year-old what success this season would look like.
A championship.
Caitlin Clark said
She added that the new team has been talking about fighting for a title this season. They have both the players and, along with new head coach Stephanie White, a program that is gunning to win it all. She also added that the mentality has been to show what the group can do collectively.

Clark understands that with such a short training camp, it is difficult to mesh instantly. They know they might have growing pains, but she faced a similar situation last season. This time, they have experience on how to handle any initial problems with team chemistry.
Caitlin Clark and Fever will play preseason game at her alma mater
Caitlin Clark hails from Des Moines, Iowa. She also went to the Iowa Hawkeyes, whom she single-handedly dragged to two back-to-back NCAA Final Fours. Along with the multitude of NCAA records she broke, she has become the most famous person in that state.
The Indiana Fever, knowing all that, scheduled their second preseason game to be held at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena, home court of the Clark’s alma mater. They will face the Brazilian National Team, which will be without Fever’s own Damiris Dantas.
Considering how popular she is, ticket prices have steadily stayed above $150. Some of the most expensive ones are going for $1700, more than what many NBA teams can charge. Expect the locals to come out in hordes to support their most famous athlete.
This will also be a good place for Clark to start preparing to attack the MVP race once the season starts. A’ja Wilson and Napheesa Collier should be dominating the stat sheets from the get-go. Therefore, Clark must start performing at a high level as soon as possible.
ESPN analyst believes Clark will win MVP
A great start is important, as A’ja Wilson showed last season when she came out of the blocks firing on all cylinders. She was determined to win her third MVP after finishing second the year before. Now that she has three, will likely play against her this upcoming season, as ESPN’s Elle Duncan explained.
Caitlin Clark will win MVP. Do I think A’ja Wilson to be A’ja Wilson again this year, yes. But I also know there is such a thing as voter fatigue. They don’t like giving anybody MVP three times in a row. I also think that Caitlin was putting it together in such a way last year, they are only going to get better. I can 100% see this happening.
Elle Duncan said
Elle Duncan explained that last season, Clark was making a push towards the end, but was not in the running to win it. This season, she can build on that strong finish and elevate her game. That will help her push to the top of the charts.
If Caitlin Clark wins MVP – it will be be because of voter fatigue of course.

If she does that, she will get the nod from voters, as they do not want to give the same player the same award over and over again. It does not matter how great that player is, voter fatigue does play a part, which means the MVP award is now Clark’s to lose.
