Basketball excites Caitlin Clark to a degree where she cannot stay away from the game, even though she cannot play. Then there is her favorite musical artist, Taylor Swift, whose recent podcast appearance sent the Fever guard running around in joy.

She, along with Swifties, ensured the Grammy Award-winning artist’s podcast debut on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce‘s, show crashed YouTube servers. Clark was among the 1.3 million watching the premiere live when the servers stopped responding.

Even though she spent time with Swift at a Kansas City Chiefs game, the 23-year-old is still a massive fan. Then, when Kelce finally went down on one knee, the newly engaged couple sent Clark and other fans into a frenzy.

The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year had predicted back when she was at Iowa that the two would eventually get hitched. Now, as the engagement was made official, Clark was one of the many who shared the Instagram story.

She just shared the post without any caption. More importantly, she ensured Swift’s So High School was playing in the background. This was bigger news for her on a day when it was supposed to be her signature logo night at the game.

Now, like most of Taylor Swift’s fans, she might also be trying to figure out when the two would exchange vows. The ideal scenario would be if the Chiefs win Super Bowl LX, giving Travis Kelce the perfect retirement gift, and then get married anytime next year.

Caitlin Clark’s Fever caps off impressive team effort with win

When fans arrived at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, they were welcomed by the new signature logo Nike designed for Caitlin Clark. They then saw T-shirts bearing her logo placed on every seat inside the arena.

Hoardings, props, billboards, the superstar guard’s logo was plastered everywhere. The only concern was what if her team lost on such a day. They were already without 4 of their primary players and now had one more injured player on the sidelines.

The team shrugged off their troubles and went guns blazing from the first whistle. Clark’s All-Star teammates, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell, led the attack, and they finished the game with an impressive 27 and 21 points, respectively.

But more importantly, it was the performance of Odyssey Sims, currently playing on her third 7-Day hardship contract, exploded for 22 points.

Many expected the Indiana Fever to throw in the towel after Sophie Cunningham‘s injury. But their dominating performance against the playoff-contending Seattle Storm suggests they are not giving up yet.

Hall of Famer does not want Caitlin Clark to play this season

If they do continue playing at this level, there is a chance the Indiana Fever will book their tickets to the postseason. At the same time, there is hope that Caitlin Clark will return by then.

She is steadily increasing her conditioning and should be back to practicing with her teammates. However, Hall of Famer Lisa Leslie threw some caution to the wind while on CBS Sports’ We Need To Talk.

You want to see Caitlin Clark for the longevity of her career. I would not put Clark back on the floor this season. I had the injury that she had… I don’t know if it is worth risking it. If they get the 8th spot, is it really worth looking at Minnesota in round 1? I don’t know.

Lisa Leslie said

The Hall of Famer does not believe it is worth risking aggravating Clark’s groin injury, especially when it is likely that they will meet a strong top team in the first round.

She prefers if the Fever shut their superstar down for this season, recover and condition over the offseason, and then prepare to come back in the 2026 campaign. That will give her enough time to get over the groin injury.
