Caitlin Clark is generally not an outspoken person who tends to call out whatever she finds wrong happening in the world. But when it comes to anything related to basketball, she does not hold back.

The 23-year-old’s penchant to go after officials has been a constant part of her personality. Some might like it, others might hate it, but that does not seem to bother her.

Even if her father wanted her to stop whining during her final year in college, there is no stopping the star point guard, especially now that there is no one to control her in the WNBA.

Her teammates and team staff do try to keep her calm, and even head coach Stephanie White asked her to get a grip on her penchant to draw technical fouls.

But since she has not played much of the season due to injury, she seems to have a license to throw a tirade every game, and nearly every possession. Her constant arguments with officials have become the most exciting part of this disappointing season.

The Fever guard turned to sarcasm during Game 1 of her team’s 1st round playoff matchup against the Atlanta Dream. There was not much of a repetition in Game 2, but she did seem to tweet this.

Oh no not the golden state clock.

She added crying and laughing emojis along with this comment, indicating she was taking a shot at the WNBA’s clock mishap that took place during the playoff game between the Golden State Valkyries and the Minnesota Lynx. However, Caitlin Clark quickly deleted that tweet.

Fans wonder why Caitlin Clark deleted the tweet

Caitlin Clark tweeting about that shot clock mishap was a direct shot at the WNBA. Then, she had her fans questioning why she had to remove the tweet.

Some fans claim that it might be the league that stepped in and asked her to remove it, as that tweet would spiral into theories about game-fixing that the WNBA does not want to face.

Other fans felt that the Iowa native was the most important player in the WNBA and should have nothing to worry about, especially when it comes to calling out the league’s embarrassing gaffe.

Fans feel that Clark can say whatever she wants and that the league needs her honest opinions. Check out examples of those reactions on social media below.

The league does keep an eye out for the social media activity of its players. Even Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, had to delete a tweet that he had posted this season, questioning the officiating.

Maybe the last thing the league wants is its most famous player and their family members to fan the flames of such theories. In its attempts to grow, the league wants to avoid controversy, even though it invariably finds itself in some.

Caitlin Clark’s Fever faces uphill task to keep season alive

The Indiana Fever is already without their 1st choice point guard in Caitlin Clark, and then their 2nd and 3rd choice playmakers. Along with them, they also do not have Sophie Cunningham and Chloe Bibby, who are also out for the season.

Without the five of them, the team still willed their way to finish in 6th place. But reality, albeit with a tinge of controversy, hit them in the 1st game against the Atlanta Dream.

In the 2nd game, they took their revenge, running the Dream out of Gainbridge Fieldhouse with a blowout victory. However, when the Fever return to face the Dream in their home court, it will be an uphill task to keep their season alive.

Their opponents are the 3rd-best team in the league for a reason, who also happen to have a full, healthy roster at their disposal. The Fever do not have that luxury, and might end up ending their season in Georgia.
