Caitlin Clark goes down Michael Jordan and Stephen Curry route to elevate basketball career
Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark takes to golf both as a hobby and as a means to unwind after a tough basketball season.

Caitlin Clark, Michael Jordan and Stephen Curry all love to play golf
In this past offseason, Caitlin Clark did not play one minute of competitive basketball. Instead, she resorted to golf. The sport has been a hobby of the Indiana Fever superstar, and she first started playing with her teammates to unwind from the grueling twelve months of basketball she just finished playing.
That grew into an invitation to take part in the Pro-Am tournament, The Annika. There she traded strokes with world No. 1 Nelly Korda and golf legend Annika Sorenstam. Her presence on the tour helped push ticket sales through the roof.
Her love for golf came to the attention of The Augusta Masters, and they invited her for a tour. During that tour, she understood how different it is to experience The Masters in real life than when watching on television. There she was on the show Under the Umbrellas where host Kira Dixon asked Clark how golf helps her in her basketball career.
I think one of my favorite stories is when Steph Curry. I think it was the Finals, they lost, and he didn’t play very well. The next day they had off, and he didn’t want to go to the gym—he wanted to go to the golf course and just hit balls. Then the day after that, he came out and had like 45 points and shot really well.

The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year believes playing golf helps calm an athlete’s mind. That in turn helps them revive their competitive drive. The game of golf has a soothing effect that can help athletes unlock themselves.
Caitlin Clark calls Michael Jordan a ‘different breed’
Caitlin Clark went on to explain how the game of golf has helped calm her mind. It helps her relax and brings back the focus. After providing the Stephen Curry example, she went on to talk about Michael Jordan and his golf games.
I know MJ is really competitive with it. The stories about MJ are crazy. He would go play 18 and then show up to the game and drop 35. I could never do that. That’s a different breed.

The Indiana Fever superstar added that golf helps her to escape from the noise she is constantly surrounded with. But she does not have it in her to play golf one day and head to a WNBA game next day and dominate.
She believes the likes of Michael Jordan and Stephen Curry are a different breed, as they could routinely do that. For her, it’s a place where she can wind down. She also hopes that her presence on golf courses helps bring more fans to women’s basketball.
Clark’s teammates want her to teach them golf
This past season, Caitlin Clark played golf with her teammate Lexie Hull. Their excursions on the golf course have caught the eye of others who want to try their hand at the game. The Fever star reveals how they have been asking her to teach them the game.
I have a lot of teammates that also don’t play. They want me to help them get into it, which I think is super cute. They want to go out and play.

She also revealed that since her teammates are athletes, they should not have a problem picking up a club and swinging the ball. Their hand-eye coordination is already great, therefore that part will be sorted. Clark revealed that she will hunt for courses in Indiana to teach her teammates.
