Caitlin Clark tried to play coy when naming footballers to Kelce brothers
Over the past few months, it has been obvious that Caitlin Clark is a multi-sports fan. As in, other than basketball she has showed her love for golf and stories about her exploits in soccer went public. However, she had one more ace up her sleeve when talking to the Kelce brothers on their podcast.
On the New Heights podcast, Clark revealed her love for football. She also clarified that she was not a bandwagon fan of the Kansas City Chiefs as some thought she was. The 22-year-old revealed that football has been part of her household for a long time.
Her time with the Iowa Hawkeyes meant she was in the center of college football as her alma mater are a powerhouse in the sport. Knowing this, hosts Jason and Travis Kelce started a segment called ‘Name an Iowa Guy’ to test Caitlin Clark’s knowledge of Iowa football players.
As the game started, the trio belted out easy to remember names. Jason Kelce preferred to name offensive linemen, considering he knows his position group players well. Travis Kelce followed a similar pattern, naming all the numerous tight ends the university has sent to the NFL.
In the midst of this was Caitlin Clark, who kept on churning out names. She admitted she did not know many players from the University’s past. But she kept on calling out names of football players who have recently been a part of the Hawkeyes program.

The episode has already crossed one million views as she happened to be the show’s most requested guest. That meant, a lot of fans watched her candid approach to the entire conversation. But fans particularly noticed how she was in that ‘Name an Iowa Guy’ segment.
Fans noticed Caitlin Clark trying to play dumb
A keen-eyed fan uploaded the segment onto social media and showed that the WNBA Rookie of the Year was actually trying to play dumb. She made facial expressions and slowed her speech down to try and show that she was struggling to remember the names. However, the moment she revealed some Iowa football players, it dumbfounded both the Kelce brothers.
This led to fans commenting on the clip suggesting Caitlin Clark knows her football well enough. She did not want to embarrass the future Hall of Famers, hence was resorting to those tricks. Check out examples of those comments below.
