Not so long ago, on June 17, the Indiana Fever faced off against the Connecticut Suns, which turned out to be a quite fiery game, leading to several technical fouls and ejections. Now, fast-forwarding to July 15th, the two sides faced each other once again, this time at the TD Garden. The outcome was, as expected, leading to multiple fouls, dirty plays, and poor officiating in the game, which also infuriated the Fever star, Caitlin Clark.

During a particular play, the Sun contested an out-of-bounds call that had been first determined to be a Fever ball in the third quarter. The play was overturned, awarding Connecticut the ball, but it seemed like Natasha Howard tapped it last before it went out of bounds. Clark was irate with a WNBA official during the review of the play.

The Fever star’s annoyance and anger were on full display during this play. So much so that she had to be restrained by the team staff while having a go at the referee as they were reviewing the play by Howard. By the looks of it in this play, the refs seemed to get the call right. Clark also lashed out a few words at the refs in the process.

That’s just rude. Grow up! Come here, come here! Unbelievable.

Caitlin Clark told the referee

This act by Clark in particular did not sit well with the WNBA fans, as many stated that the Fever star is complaining too much, rather than focusing on the game. Clark has been in similar circumstances before, but fortunately, she wasn’t penalized for a technical foul, and play continued. She previously had several run-ins with officials. Through 13 games so far this year, she has picked up two technical fouls.

Nonetheless, Clark and her Fever side picked up a hard-fought 77-85 win against the Sun. But this game will be much more known for its poor officiating and high-end drama on the court. As fans gave Clark her fair share of criticism, they did not waste time throwing shade at the WNBA officials as well.

Fans left frustrated with Caitlin Clark complaining to the WNBA refs

Caitlin Clark, the Fever star, is known for her fiery nature on the court. If anything wrong is happening against her or her teammates, she does not waste any time in making her opinions known to the officials. Against the Connecticut Sun, she did the same, but the NBA and WNBA fanbase think that this time, she might have gone a bit too overboard.

Mostly because Clark is known for her back-and-forth with the referees throughout this season. However, she had a go at the refs on a foul that was rightly called, leaving fans annoyed. Many of them took to social media apps and sites to put forward their views on this matter. One fan wrote on X, “She always whining.” Check out some of the fan reactions below:

With six counts, tied for the second-highest in the WNBA, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star was one technical foul away from a ban during her debut campaign.

Caitlin Clark’s annoyance is justified as Sophie Cunningham takes to X to call out the WNBA officials

As fans were left frustrated with Caitlin Clark having a go at the referee during the Connecticut game, she was not totally wrong. One prominent instance was when her teammate Sophie Cunningham took an elbow to the head during a play on Tuesday’s contest.

Even after the obvious elbow blow to the head, no foul was called, leaving many in disbelief. Cunningham quickly took to X to call out the officials.

In less than an hour, Cunningham’s tweet received over 680,000 views on the platform, with fans chiming in their takes on the matter. It will be interesting to watch how Clark, who left the game with a groin injury, and Cunningham react to this matter during the post-match press conference.
