Caitlin Clark open to playing two sports at LA 2028 Olympics to fulfil childhood dream
WNBA and Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark attended an NFL event to discuss ways to promote flag football.

Caitlin Clark wants to play basketball and flag football at LA 2028 Olympics
Caitlin Clark might be a superstar in the world of women’s basketball. But before she completely focused on basketball, she also has dipped her hands and feet in other sports. Be it golf, soccer, etc. her competitive drive has seen her excel or at least be not terrible at those sports.
She admittedly is continuously working on her golf skills. But golf is still just a hobby, and she has no plans on going pro. However, she could have gone pro in another sport, soccer. There are several clips of a young Clark scoring goals in youth soccer games. She had the skill to advance in the world of soccer.
After all this comes football. She is a die-hard fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and has sufficient knowledge about the game and its players. But she has never thought of playing professional tackle football since it only has a men’s league. However, flag football could interest her, as she claimed at an NFL event.
I think, growing up I had an older brother who played football. My grandfather was a football coach for 40+ years. I remember going to my brother’s football games and I was like, ‘why can’t I play flag football?’ I would have played it, would have loved it. Maybe LA 2028, maybe I’ll do two sports.

When she said this, co-panelist and tennis legend Serena Williams believed Clark would be good at flag football too. Stories of her competitive drive are already well established. Considering playing football is a childhood dream, she could suit up for that as well as basketball at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.
Can Caitlin Clark play two sports at LA 2028?
Caitlin Clark is currently employed by the WNBA through the Indiana Fever. Her employment contract will run up to the 2026 season, with an option for the team to pick up her fourth season option. It might not get to that considering the new CBA will kick in and Clark will prefer to sign a larger deal.
If she does, she will be looking to sign a 3- or 4-year contract. That means she will have to prioritize the Indiana Fever and the WNBA over anything else. Therefore, the chances of them allowing her to participate in something like flag football is unlikely.
Summer Olympics run right in between a WNBA season. This means even if the NFL tries to convince the NBA and WNBA to allow Clark play, it is highly unlikely. She might have to forget the possibility of her playing the sport at least until she is in the W.
Even if she can promise to stay healthy, her impact to the WNBA is far too important for them to allow something like this to happen. In fact, they might even restrict her involvement in any sport which requires such physical exertion.
Former Notre Dame coach thanks Caitlin Clark for changing women’s basketball
Caitlin Clark has brought an incredible transformation in women’s basketball. Both college as well as the professional game has witnessed a major growth in terms of fan following. This was not there before, and her impact was felt over the past few years as former Notre Dame head coach Muffet McGraw explained.
I think women my age all dreamed that this was being possible. When Caitlin Clark came on to the scene a few years ago, she made it all happen. I think we owe her quite a lot, how she’s grown everything about women’s basketball. It’s something we dreamed would happen, and it’s great to see it coming to fruition.

Muffet McGraw was still the head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish when Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers and many other star prospects attended recruiting field trips at South Bend. But eventually she chose to commit to her hometown Iowa Hawkeyes, and the rest is history.
