NBC hit it out of the park by bringing on Caitlin Clark as their ‘special contributor’ during their Sunday Night Basketball debut at Madison Square Garden.

She was the prime feature alongside Maria Taylor, Carmelo Anthony, and Reggie Miller to talk about the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks, her favorite basketball players, and the WNBA CBA negotiations.

The Indiana Fever superstar reiterated that she was confident that, despite the threat of a strike, her fellow players and the league would come to an agreement soon, and they would start preparing for the 2026 season.

Other than trolling herself and talking about how she wants to adopt Luka Doncic‘s ability to create separation, she was also getting a lot of praise from the two Hall of Famers beside her.

Miller, particularly being the Indiana Pacers great that he is, shares a special bond with Caitlin Clark, and went on to talk about how great a shooter she is. Then, when Maria Taylor asked if he had an NBA player comparison, he replied:

I like Payton Pritchard from Boston. The way he’s able to handle the basketball. He makes big shots when the shot clock is winding down, a lot like this young lady right here.

Reggie Miller said

As soon as Miller uttered the Boston Celtics star’s name, the smile Clark sported so far vanished in an instant. Even when she tried to bring it back, she could not hold back her obvious disappointment with that comparison.

Reggie Miller placed Caitlin Clark ahead of him a few minutes before the disastrous comparison

Caitlin Clark gushes whenever Reggie Miller or his sister, the great Cheryl Miller talk about her. She knows that she will get a lot of praise, as she did a while before that segment.

There’s a new shooter from Indiana. I’m the third-best shooter in the state of Indiana now. It goes Caitlin, Tyrese, then now myself… Knicks fans, she’s taking over from me right now.

Reggie Miller said

The Hall of Famer was informing Knicks fans that Clark is the one taking over from him in the rivalry with New York. The point guard tried to butt in and clarify that she was not in that league, but Miller was not wavering from his opinion.

The 60-year-old has always held a high opinion of the Fever guard, and his motive was to give her as many props as he could. Little did he realize that moments later, the 24-year-old would be dumbfounded by that comparison to Payton Pritchard.

NBC broadcaster trolls LeBron James for trying to match Caitlin Clark

After the NBC’s studio team ended their opening show, it was time for her favorite player, LeBron James, and his Los Angeles Lakers to take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

When LeBron James brought the ball up to near the halfway line, he realized that there were just 2.5 seconds left on the clock. Knowing it would be difficult to get past OG Anunoby, the 41-year-old stepped up and launched a shot from the logo.

From the logo. I mean, look, Caitlin Clark is in the house tonight, so he might as well try a logo 3, right?

Mike Tirico said on NBC’s broadcast

The longtime broadcaster essentially trolled James for trying an audacious attempt from the halfway mark, as he could not manage to get enough juice underneath it.

As the ball dipped and dropped onto the floor well before the basket, Reggie Miller remarked that maybe Clark would have made that easily.
