Clark proved why she deserves the WNBA’s unanimous Rookie of the Year title, scoring a career-high 35 points and breaking the single-season rookie scoring record in a thrilling 110-109 win for the Indiana Fever over the Dallas Wings.

Impressively, Caitlin Clark now has 761 points for the season, as she has surpassed Seimone Augustus’ previous record, which stood at 744 points, which was set all the way back in 2006. Furthermore, the milestone was achieved with her hitting her signature three-pointer that came late in the third quarter, which then tied the game at 78 points a piece.

The rookie sensation, alongside the exceptional Kelsey Mitchell who added 30 points, played a crucial role in Indiana’s performance, as they both contributed to 12 of the team’s 16 successful three-point attempts. Many would be really pleased that the Indiana Fever’s victory came after a challenging period, where they suffered back-to-back losses to A’Ja Wilson and the defending champion, Las Vegas Aces.

Adding to the joy, the Fever have now secured the No. 6 seed for the upcoming playoffs, which is set to begin next Sunday. To conclude the season, they will face a difficult away game against the third-seeded Connecticut Sun, who have dominated them in the series so far.
