WNBA and Indiana Fever rookie superstar Caitlin Clark

Caitlin Clark has been a trailblazer when it comes to women’s basketball. Despite all the pressure of succeeding in her first WNBA season, the rookie turned her performance by a few clicks to lead the Indiana Fever to their first playoffs in eight seasons.

That was despite both her and the Indiana Fever struggling. The biggest issue was integrating her game into the existing lineup that Fever had. On the course towards building chemistry, they lost a lot of games, which tested their patience.

Then once they started clicking, they started winning games. Some more time spent during the Olympic break helped the team come together.

It also helped Caitlin Clark enter the MVP conversation as teams struggled to win against her squad. She has now revealed how she was able to cope with the pressure and succeed.

We had a sports psychologist, who would be there for people who had performance anxiety or things going on completely outside of basketball. At the end of the day, a lot of people forget we are humans. It’s important to talk to somebody. I think it’s been very important in my career.

The sports psychologist seemed to have worked wonders for her as since that Olympic break, she ran away with the Rookie of the Year race. Moreover, she also ended up fourth in the league MVP awards voting.

Add to that the mountain of pressure she was constantly in and it seems the mental health experts worked wonders. The Indiana Fever eventually reached the first round of the playoffs. But then, their collective playoff inexperience saw them end their season early.

The fact that Caitlin Clark has been speaking at multiple events this WNBA offseason goes to show her popularity. But it also shows that the Indiana Fever star handles PR activities well and at the same time, gets paid handsomely for it.

The Massachusetts Conference for Women is an annual event that brings together successful women from all spheres to speak on topics pertaining to women. As per Boston.com, this year’s event will be held on December 12 with the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, and Robin Roberts headlining it.

Along with them, model Beverly Johnson and three-time Olympic gold medalist Gail Devers are also set to make an appearance. Along with Devers, Caitlin Clark will be one of the keynote speakers representing women in sports. The WNBA superstar has come a long way to share the stage with such icons, at just 22 years old.
