The WNBA is now knocking on the door of becoming a major league sport by viewership. The advent of Caitlin Clark has made the league a must-watch whenever she’s out on the floor competing. Clark is now a two-time All-Star in two years, having carried her 2024 form into the 2025 WNBA season. She is also the player who received the highest votes for an All-Star Game appearance at her home arena in Indianapolis.
Caitlin Clark finished the polling with 1.29 million votes from fans, beating Lynx star Napheesa Collier. Collier had 1.17 million votes herself and is the second captain at the All-Star event. This is the highest All-Star voting return in WNBA history by far. For comparison, 1.29 million was the vote count for the top 30 vote getters combined in 2023, before the advent of the former Iowa superstar and NCAA record holder.
Clark’s 1.29 million vote tally is higher than what Anthony Edwards and Kyrie Irving received this year. These are two highly popular guards with great shoe lines who are idolized by many kids. This is a sign that the WNBA is really arriving as a product and becoming a common watching experience for many in the country.

The game will be played at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on July 19 and will follow major draws like the 3-point contest. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will be expected to join Sabrina Ionescu at the event, according to some reports. Clark was recruited to an NBA All-Star Weekend event this year, but declined in favor of drawing the NBA stars to her home court and helping women’s sports grow with the linkup.
Caitlin Clark has been out of action for seven of the Fever’s 18 games thus far in 2025. The Iowa sensation is still recovering from a groin injury that forced her out for five games earlier this year. MRI scans show that there is no tear in her groin, but she is still experiencing nagging pain that has kept her out of action. Experts expect Clark to be back in action before long as the Indiana Fever look to make the playoffs again.
Caitlin Clark will unveil a new PE for the Kobe 5 shoes on her return
Nike Basketball seemed to have fumbled the ball with marketing Caitlin Clark as their main draw on the woman’s side. However, they have a few tricks up their sleeve, releasing many Player Edition shoes from the Kobe line. Kobe shoes are the most popular line among NBA players, and even Clark has shown an affinity for wearing his Nike kicks throughout her college career as well as during her WNBA sojourn.

Few players receive exclusive Nike Kobe sneakers, and public releases are even rarer. However, Caitlin Clark has her Fever-inspired colorway already listed on Nike’s website ahead of its release on Monday, June 30. Nike Basketball also released a trailer today, ahead of the WNBA All-Star captains announcement, hyping up their new releases which drop tomorrow in stores at a retail price of $190.

Caitlin Clark has worn the Kobe 5 Protros with her own Player Exclusives for quite a while now. These kicks are considered to be among the very best for outdoor hooping over the past two decades. It seems that Nike does have a plan for their biggest young athlete after all.
