With today’s win against the Atlanta Dream, Caitlin Clark and her Indiana Fever further cemented their playoff dreams. With 10 games remaining, they need the constantly improving rookie to continue her exploits. Both her passing and scoring have helped the team turn their season around. But tonight, one particular moment left fans gasping.

The moment in question was when Caitlin Clark rolled her ankle in the very first quarter. When asked about the injury at the post-game press conference, Clark said:

I saw the replay and I look really soft. It wasn’t that bad of a turn, but it hurt. Sometimes you just need to give yourself a second. If you ever sprained your ankle, it just stings for a little bit. I was good. You are not a real basketball player if you haven't sprained your ankle.

The first lines threw All-Star teammate Kelsey Mitchell and head coach Christie Sides along with the reporters into splits. They could not believe the fact that Clark trolled herself in that situation.

The way the rookie planted her left foot onto the floor and twisted her ankle generally led to a long recovery cycle. That is why fans and the team looked worried when she lay on the floor. The pain induced by her entire body weight falling on her left leg could have had an impact on the rest of the season.

In another game on this night, WNBA player Shakira Austin had to leave the game, again for twisting her ankle on a play. Thankfully that did not happen to Caitlin Clark. She walked it off and continued playing to lead the Fever to another victory. The Fever surpassed their previous season’s record as they approach the playoffs.

Fans cannot believe Caitlin Clark’s reaction to nerve-wracking injury

For basketball fans, Caitlin Clark is one of the most important reasons this WNBA season has been exciting. If she had to miss games due to injury, it would have been disappointing.
