Since it was the turn of the Indiana Fever to host this year’s All-Star weekend, it was expected that Caitlin Clark would be front and center of all the festivities. Unsurprisingly, she was named captain of her team, and she selected 2 of her Fever teammates to play alongside her.

Then she was added to the list of competitors in the 3-point contest. Fans were ecstatic that the 23-year-old would make her debut in the event, something fans have been waiting for nearly 2 years to materialize.

Then, on July 15th, Caitlin Clark was going about her business, setting up her teammates for a gritty win over the Connecticut Sun. In the last few seconds of the game, she re-injured her groin. A teary-eyed 23-year-old walking towards the bench sank everyone’s hearts.

Soon, it became clear that the point guard would miss all the activities of the All-Star weekend. However, she was not going to let this disappointment spoil her weekend, and she arrived at the All-Star party dressed up for the occasion.

She was seen appearing on StudBudz’s live stream while also bringing her brother, Colin, on the show. Her aunts, boyfriend, parents, and close friends were also at the party, and briefly appeared on the stream.

Speaking of friends, other than the mandatory appearance of Golden State Valkyries star and former Iowa teammate Kate Martin, Clark also brought along some other friends. One of them is Jade Jones.

A few sips of alcohol later, the Fever guard and Tyrese Haliburton‘s girlfriend were seen on the stage alongside R&B artist Mario. When he was about to start a song, Caitlin Clark was the one leading her WNBA compatriots to vibe along with the rhythm of the beats.

Aliyah Boston had to assist Caitlin Clark while on live stream

Before the alcohol started to do its work, Caitlin Clark had just arrived at the party and was looking for the StudBudz crew. The moment she saw Courtney Williams, she screamed at the top of her lungs.

The Lynx guard was shocked that the most famous women’s athlete in the world had voluntarily walked towards them to be on their live stream. As the two dapped up, Clark’s Indiana Fever and All-Star teammate, Aliyah Boston, noticed something.

She saw that her point guard was clutching a beer can while being broadcast live. Boston sneakily grabbed hold of the can and took it out of her teammate’s hands. Alcohol in moderate consumption is allowed on Twitch streams.

However, Aliyah Boston probably thought there would be children watching the stream. Clark did not react to this and continued to rave about their live streams to Williams and co-host Natisha Hiedeman.

No replacement decided to take Caitlin Clark’s place in 3-point contest

Caitlin Clark will make her presence felt at the All-Star weekend’s activities. She might tie her laces on, but will be there courtside to cheer on her teammates. The league has already announced that Brittany Sykes will take her place as a guard for Team Clark.

However, as of the time of writing, the league has not announced a replacement for her spot in the 3-point shooting contest. As of now, only 4 players are showing up as contestants. It could be that they are unable to get a suitable replacement.

Some capable shooters are already present at the All-Star weekend. However, for the likes of the Fever’s Lexie Hull or New York Liberty’s Marine Johannes, they need practice if they are to compete with some degree of success.

Unless one of them agreed to practice and get ready in time, it is possible that the WNBA would go ahead with just 4 competitors. Fans had waited for 2 years for Caitlin Clark to battle Sabrina Ionescu. Now they have to wait until next year for it to happen.
