Caitlin Clark made her WNBA debut today with the Indiana Fever, living up to the hype from her college days. She scored an impressive 21 points and nailed 5 three-pointers in her first preseason match, much to the delight of fans.
The Indiana Fever started their preseason tour by playing against the Dallas Wings today in a packed College Park Center in Arlington, Texas. The former Iowa Hawkeyes superstar being the main attraction, she delivered by taking 5 threes en route to finishing with 21 points. Most importantly, all of them were from long-range. One of those long-range threes came when she made fellow first-round draftee Jacy Sheldon fall to the floor, stepped back, and shot it right on the money.
The crowd cheered every time the No. 1 draft pick made a bucket or made an assist to her teammates. Manning the point for the first time with different teammates and that too away from home was not too big a stage for her. Moreover, the WNBA got a glimpse of how she would perform at this high level.
The Fever ended up losing the game. However, it gave a glimpse into the future, with Clark bringing her long-range game to the pros.
