Caitlin Clark decided to forego the upstart Unrivaled League as she wanted to avoid playing competitive basketball. Her focus was on rest and developing her game in the offseason and many thought she has kept time aside for shooting threes alongside Steph Curry at the NBA All-Star Weekend.

Caitlin Clark‘s schedule suggested the Indiana Fever superstar was eyeing the three-point contest. Her recent birthday shootout added on to the impression that she was getting the practice necessary to make a mark in the NBA’s All-Star Weekend.

However, rumors started to circulate yesterday that the 23-year-old placed some demands in order to participate in the 3-point contest. She allegedly wanted Steph Curry to be a part of the WNBA All-Star weekend in a similar capacity. A few hours Shams Charania revealed her final decision.

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark will not participate in NBA All-Star special 3-point shootout in San Francisco and “wants her first three-point contest to be at WNBA All-Star in Indianapolis this summer,” her representatives at Excel Sports said today.

This means she wants to make her debut in the contest at the WNBA’s All-Star Weekend. Since it will be held at her workplace in Indianapolis this season, she wants to make it special. That means for the time being, she will not participate in the NBA’s All-Star Weekend this season.

Caitlin Clark focused on making her mark in the WNBA

With this move, Caitlin Clark essentially puts an end to any chance of being in competitive basketball this offseason. The WNBA Rookie of the Year has clarified before that she wants to stay out of the spotlight and do the things she loves. One of them was The Annika Pro-Am tournament.

She was at the Kansas City Chiefs luxury box beside Taylor Swift during their Divisional round game. Now that the Chiefs are in the Super Bowl, there is a chance she could be at the biggest game. Apart from this, she could take time out to watch her Iowa Hawkeyes.

They have recently lost five straight games and are an outside bet to continue their best player’s streak of making it to NCAA’s March Madness. Other than these, her focus is primarily on improving her skills as a basketball player.

She has spent time working out at the Indiana Fever facilities in a bid to become one of the best players in the league. Her focus seems to be solely on helping her team take the next step in their dreams of winning a WNBA title.
