Team USA will potentially drop Caitlin Clark from Paris Olympics team

With the Olympics nearing, Team USA basketball had already cut their initial list of players to the last few. Caitlin Clark was added to the list of probable players after her record-setting performances in college. However, basketball insider Shams Charania revealed that Clark faces a potential snub from going to Paris. Their decision to stick with WNBA veteran stars has fans seething.

Historically, Team USA basketball has always given college players an opportunity to play alongside WNBA veterans. With Caitlin Clark, the opportunity was a no-brainer. However, as per the Athletic’s Shams Charania, Team USA Basketball will potentially prefer to go with veterans for the Paris Olympics. Caitlin Clark‘s 1st WNBA season so far has seen a mix of good and bad performances. It’s not wholly her fault, as her Indiana Fever is still trying to work out how to maximize their offensive and defensive efficiency. Fans outraged with Team USA’s decision to snub Caitlin Clark

For basketball fans, they wanted the newest superstar on the block to make it to Paris. After all, they want to see Clark shine on the world stage. With Team USA’s decision to stick with proven veterans, the rookie sensation might have to wait until the next Olympics in 4 years. Fans remained outraged by the report from Charania. Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark will now use the 1-month time off to focus on improving her game along with her Indiana Fever teammates.
