CJ Stroud has become the new standard for breakout rookie performances. After guiding his Houston Texans to the Divisional Playoff round last season, that standard has now become the expectation for new rookie Caleb Williams. Tonight, as the two go head-to-head for the first time, both their mothers drove up to NRG Stadium to support their children.

Kimberly Stroud, mother of the Texans star sophomore, made her way to the arena as usual as she continues to make it to her son’s games. But before kickoff, it was brought to her attention that Caleb Williams’ mother, Dayne Price, was also in the arena.

They were a part of a video where they talked about their respective sons and their growth from children to college stars to the NFL. The mothers know the significance of this union as the two young quarterbacks are expected to be the torchbearers for the league going forward.

It is inevitable that the Chicago Bears rookie will be compared to the Texans QB. After all, he has much better on paper squad than what was at the disposal of Stroud last season. With an upcoming receiving core, CJ Stroud launched 4000 yards through the air. The Chicago Bears have the likes of Keenan Allen, DJ Moore and Rome Odunze.

If the Houston Texans win this game, it could be down to their experience playing together. If Caleb Williams can pull off an upset, the hype surrounding him will get some proof. That will set up the rest of his season. Either way, both mothers will be keen to see their children do well whether they win or lose.

CJ Stroud shows off unique preparation technique ahead of Caleb Williams clash

Every athlete or football player has their own ways of preparing themselves before a game or an event. For CJ Stroud it is no different. Cameras captured him with what looked like a pole with a weight ball attached at the end. He was swinging it in a way that look like a combination of golf and baseball.

Interesting choice of workout before a game. That particular repetition loosens up one’s shoulders, arms, and wrists. Those three happen to be the most crucial bits for a quarterback. Stroud resorting to that just before the game shows his dedication to his craft.

He wants anything and everything to help him drive his Houston Texans to victory. The Texans have made improvements to their team to contend for Super Bowls. If that goal is driving him to be better even by that slightest bit before the game, the Texans fans are in for a run.
