The hype that Caleb Williams came into the NFL with is yet to show. He has thrown two interceptions and has zero touchdowns to cover those. The Chicago Bears did win their first game, but it was against a struggling Tennessee Titans. Against CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans, the problems became all the more evident.
After that game, the two quarterbacks met in the middle of the field. Stroud was heard saying some kind words from what the cameras picked up.
Good job out there, bro. Hey, stop taking those hits. Hey, learn, look, come here. Learn from those mistakes. And everything that you got, bro, is in you already, bro. You're going to be a hell of a player in this league.CJ Stroud said
In the middle of those words, Stroud asked him to come closer so that he could continue saying what he wanted to. At that moment, Williams’ demeanor suggested he was not happy once Stroud mentioned the part of the rookie taking hits.
Caleb Williams was brought down a mindboggling seven times in the game against the Houston Texans. That is after the Bears front office spent massive amounts of money on reinforcements. What made matters worse for Williams was that the sack number did not reflect the number of times he was forced to flee from another sack.
Two throws from those flee from a sack scrambles led to interceptions, bringing his overall QBR down to 30th in the league. Another team recently benched their quarterback, who had similar numbers. Williams’ frustrations were visible, knowing exactly how bad it was on the field, which is why it seemed he was not ready to listen to the motivation CJ Stroud was preaching.
Chicago Bears need to fix their OL play to help Caleb Williams
Any quarterback worth their salt knows how badly it affects them when they are constantly under pressure. They will struggle to play well, especially when they are young and still trying to understand the nuances of the league. That brings this Chicago Bears offensive line into the spotlight.

GM Ryan Poles has done his part to assemble an offensive line comprising of impactful players. The team expected the group, with its mix of youth and veteran presence, to be one of the best in the league. Unfortunately, they just have not clicked.
Their rookie QB has faced 24 blitzes and leads the league with 9 sacks. Their lack of blocking has impeded their running game as the Chicago Bears rank at the bottom in the league in yards per carry.
All this points to the fact that the coaches have to quickly get the offensive line to play better. Else not only will all the efforts of the front office go to waste, but they will stunt the development of Caleb Williams.
