The Jacksonville Jaguars did not just make Cam Little the youngest ever kicker to be drafted into the NFL based on a whim. They saw what he was doing in college and believed he deserved a chance.
The then-20-year-old made an early impression at training camp and beat out Riley Patterson to become the team’s designated placekicker.
In his rookie season, the Arkansas Razorback converted 93.1% of his attempts. Still, he was unheard of, as most fans only knew about former Baltimore Ravens star Justin Tucker. The latter was the gold standard of kickers.
Then there was Brandon Aubrey, who became notable for his long kicks. Many pegged him to earn the biggest contract for a kicker. The attention around him was such that Cam Little’s preseason exploits seemingly were thrown under the rug.
He had hit a 70-yard field goal. Since it was a preseason game, it was not recorded in the NFL stat sheets, hence it went underappreciated. While playing against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 9 Sunday (November 2), he received the opportunity to make things right.
In their last possession of the 1st half, the Jaguars’ offense did its best to drive up the field. However, with less than 5 seconds left, they handed it over to Little.

The Oklahoma native sized up the kick and sent it booming down the middle. Commentators, Jaguars players, and even those on the opposing end marveled at the distance that kick generated, a grand 68 yards.
Fans praise Cam Little in the most hilarious way possible
When clips of this phenomenal field goal reached social media, fans were left reeling. There was a time when 60-yard kicks were rare and significant.
Now, the new generation of kickers has made it seem normal to go past that mark. Fans were surprised it was Cam Little who set the record rather than one of the more obvious names.
That is why they ended up praising him with the most creative jokes they could think of. Check out examples of those hilarious comments below:

Incredible kick! Wonder how many hours of practice went into nailing that 68-yarder. Do you think it will change strategies behind field goal attempts going forward?

This guy definitely does not skip leg day. 🦵🏾
Cam Little is all of 22 years old and has a bright future ahead of him. If he can keep up his consistency, it will help him land a fat paycheck in a couple of years.
Kickers were not having the best of times early in the season. But of late, their heroics and record-setting performances have brought the glitz back into the position.
Cam Little’s performance undermined Raiders’ best game to date
The Las Vegas Raiders saw a big change in the offseason when they hired a new head coach, a GM, and brought in veteran Geno Smith to lead the offense.

However, those moves haven’t really panned out, with the latter performing as the worst QB in the league. In this game, though, the 35-year-old produced one of his best games to date.
He threw for 284 yards and 4 touchdowns. Those scores were enough to counter his league-worst 11th interception of the season. Three of those touchdowns came in the second half. The last one in regulation could have won them the game.
However, it was Cam Little’s field goal that forced the game into overtime. The kicker also made sure to kick the extra point to add to their overtime touchdown.

Then Geno Smith responded to that score, throwing one to tight end Brock Bowers. They then attempted a 2-point conversion, but it failed. It seems that more than the rest of the team, it was Little’s 13 points that helped them win.
