Usually, fans take a while to warm up to running backs who do not come into a draft with loads of hype over their heads. In the case of Cam Skattebo, it seems his personality made him instantly popular.
When a fumble cost his team 6 points, his meltdown caught on with fans. They felt he was showing his true love for the game and for his teammates.
Then, after scoring 3 touchdowns in a famous win against the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles, he again displayed his passion, ripping off his t-shirt alongside former NFL QB Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Those incidents made the California native a fan favorite among Giants fans. No wonder they were heartbroken when the 23-year-old suffered a horrendous season-ending injury in their return fixture against the Eagles.
Aye, honestly if you don’t like that I’m having a good time while dealing with a tough time, then just go ahead and unfollow and casually move on. I’m not able to play football and have the fun I’ve been having my whole life so I am doing things outside the box trying to find stuff to keep me happy. Enjoy the rest of y’all’s week and just don’t talk about me if you ain’t got nothing nice to say.

Skattebo wrote this on X after the football fans went after him for enjoying his time on WWE. They believed he was risking aggravating the injury.

But the Arizona State alum believes he was just trying to have a good time, especially when he was already going through a tough time sitting at home dealing with his injury and recovery.
Cam Skattebo clashed with Dominik Mysterio on WWE Raw
When the WWE hosted its latest edition of Monday Night Raw at the hallowed Madison Square Garden, they were sure to have New York celebrities in attendance.
Podcaster Andrew Schulz was standing next to Giants players when WWE star Dominik Mysterio went up to him and reminded the comedian that he was the only champion from New York.
One thing you should know Dom…

Mysterio then turned towards Cam Skattebo, sitting in the front row, and asked if he could count how many years it had been since the Giants or the New York Knicks won a championship.
After that question, as Schulz tried to take the microphone back, Mysterio pushed him into the stands. Seeing this, the Giants running back got up from his seat and got into the WWE star’s face.
Seeing this, the remaining members of The Judgment Day came up to back up Dominik Mysterio. As they were trying to walk away, JD McDonagh tried to talk trash to Skattebo.
Instead of answering back, the 5′ 11″ star shoved McDonagh to the floor, starting a brawl between the Giants, Schulz, and The Judgment Day. It seems football fans were upset with the running back’s actions here, as he could have aggravated his injuries.
Cam Skattebo moves around on a scooter during Giants games
Skattebo will have to wait until next season to play football as he suffered a serious injury that needs time to recover. That will not stop him from watching his Giants play at home.

The franchise posted a picture of their rookie running back wearing his protective boot around his left leg, straddling a scooter as he makes his way around MetLife Stadium.

As he mentioned in his tweet, he misses football, as competitive sports have driven him for more than half a year. Now, he has to wait, and that might be eating him inside. That is why he went along with his teammates to watch WWE Monday Night Raw.
