The Cincinnati Bengals seem to be having a rocky start to their new season in the league, but even in such times, if there’s one thing they don’t lack is confidence. And often, it becomes a little toxic as it happened with cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt taking some ugly shot at upcoming week 3 opponents, Jayden Danields’ Washington Commanders.
Taylor-Britt trash-talking his opponents isn’t something new, yet he has yet to learn a lesson. Last he did it with the Kansas City Chiefs wideout Xavier Worthy, criticizing him for being good at just one thing: his speed. However, his team lost the match 26-25 and recorded the second consecutive defeat.
His new target is the Commanders’ rookie quarterback, who has a better record than the Bengals at 1-1. He mainly targeted the offense led by Daniels, claiming it was very simple.
Composed. They don't make him (Jayden Daniels) do a lot. They keep it really simple for him. Nice college offense, Kingsbury, the OC, so they love to move guys around here and there, but just keep it real simple for him. I heard his pass percentage is very high, but he's only throwing short routes, you know? Some intermediate stuff, quick throws.Cam Taylor-Britt said to reporters on Thursday
Taylor-Britt’s remark was referencing the Commanders’ no-huddle plays, which is ranked most in the NFL at 63. So far they are playing safe, but after being clearly challenged by the upcoming offense, offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury may spice things up a little.
Commanders’ Jayden Daniels and Noah Brown develop chemistry on the field
In the meantime, the Commanders’ players are trying to build chemistry among them, especially the rookie quarterback and wide receivers. Since the Commanders signed Noah Brown quite late in the training camp, he didn’t get enough time with Daniels and that’s why he has been making the best of what he got.
Brown has been paired with wideout Terry McLaurin, and Daniels appreciated their dedication and efforts toward football. And the two have been displaying their prowess in these starting weeks of the season quite well.
You can just tell with Noah how he approaches practice. He's a pro's pro and you see the same thing from Terry, and that trickles down to the rest of the room.Jayden Daniels said
Coming to the quarterback, he became the first quarterback in the history of the league to complete 75% of his total passes, with zero interceptions and rushing yards of 100 in just two games. Embracing his running ability, he also logged two rushing touchdowns and 132 rushing yards, which is the highest among the rookies this season.
