Cam Ward just got his name on a hit list in Cincinnati. The quarterback of the Miami Hurricanes is in good spirits as he prepares to take his talents to the next level in the upcoming NFL Draft. It has been a busy few days for him as Ward continues to improve upon his impression on teams by urging them to pick him as the top quarterback candidate over Shedeur Sanders.

His interviews have been positive with the likes of Tennessee, the New York Giants, and the New York Jets all considering him. The Combine is all about answering questions under pressure. The player who handles pressure the best is often viewed as the most NFL-ready player.

During Cam Ward’s press conference, he was asked an interesting question. The Hurricanes quarterback was asked to rank his top five NFL quarterbacks playing in the league and this was his list.

I would say I’m not going to count myself (as) I’m not in the league yet but Jayden Daniels, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen’s up there, and Jalen Hurts.

That is not the worst list, but unfortunately, it is missing one name. Cam Ward forgot to mention Joe Burrow.

Joe Burrow had the best season amongst all quarterbacks this year

The Bengals’ quarterback threw for 4,918 yards, 43 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions. Statistically, he had a better season than Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, who were frontrunners to win the MVP. If not for a short-lived season, Burrow would have walked away with the MVP Award.

Ward likely forgot about Burrow at that moment. He deserves to be on that list above Jayden Daniels. The rookie had a phenomenal first season but Burrow’s been doing this longer than him and deserves the respect.

The other names on the list are valid. Patrick Mahomes did not have the best numbers this season but still took the Chiefs to the Super Bowl, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen were both lights out going neck-to-neck attempting to win the MVP, and Jalen Hurts, won a championship so he deserves to be here.

Cam Ward hopes to put himself on that list shortly. The quarterback is part of an interesting draft class where there is no guarantee of who goes first overall. The eyes will be on him and Shedeur Sanders, as they are the best candidates at quarterback in this draft class. It will be interesting to see if he can carry over his success at Miami to the NFL and have an immediate impact similar to Jayden Daniels.
