The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, is preparing to host one of the most highly anticipated matchups this weekend. UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira will defend his title against Magomed Ankalaev in the main event of UFC 313. Interestingly, while Ankalaev is gaining attention for his intense training routines, Pereira appears to be taking a more relaxed approach.

With only a few days left until their clash, Pereira and Ankalaev are creating a significant buzz in the community. Recently, they faced off at a pre-fight press conference where they exchanged some intense insults. Additionally, just hours before the event, a video emerged showcasing the UFC light heavyweight champion’s activities.

A month ago, UFC 312 took place in the vibrant lands of Australia, featuring Pereira’s friend Sean Strickland as the event headliner. Due to their strong friendship, the UFC light heavyweight champion supported Strickland from his corner. Additionally, Pereira attended a Drake concert in Australia. These activities raised concerns about the UFC light heavyweight champion.

Chael Sonnen nullifies the concerns surrounding Alex Pereira’s preparations for UFC 313 fight

Since moving to the UFC light heavyweight division, Alex ‘Poatan’ Pereira has dominated every formidable opponent he has faced. He is currently on a three-fight title defense winning streak. In his most recent match, Pereira’s fight ended in a brutal victory at UFC 307. Now, the Brazilian fighter has already defeated most of the top contenders, except Magomed Ankalaev.

Interestingly, like Pereira, Ankalaev has an impressive record and a dominant streak in the 205 lbs UFC division. Moreover, he comes from the Dagestani lineage of MMA fighters, known for their exceptional wrestling skills. While there was concern about Pereira’s focus and preparation, Chael Sonnen revealed the truth about the situation.

I’ve been to the PI for two days in a row now. Alex Pereira is the only fighter on this weekend’s card who has sparred… This is a myth, this whole thing about the struggle or Pereira’s not focused… You’ve all misled us. This guy is a 100% ready.

Interestingly, although Ankalaev has attempted to intimidate Pereira by boasting about his wrestling abilities, the UFC light heavyweight champion remains unfazed. The Brazilian fighter has consistently prepared as he has for all his previous opponents in anticipation of facing the Dagestani fighter. As of now, the UFC 313 main event is official, as both Pereira and Ankalaev successfully made their championship weights.
