Cameron Brink admits growing up with the Currys is the only reason why she fell in love with basketball
WNBA's rookie Cameron Brink and NBA superstar Stephen Curry are god-siblings.
Cameron Brink reveals growing up with the Curry family started her basketball career.
The Los Angeles Sparks’ rookie Cameron Brink is currently thriving in the WNBA, credit to her defensive skills. The forward also had an amazing career in college as she has won numerous awards for her dominance on the opposite side of the court. However, only recently the forward revealed the real reason she got into basketball while growing up.
Cameron Brink comes from a basketball family as one of the biggest superstars in the NBA, Stephen Curry is her god-brother. As the Sparks star recently appeared on Paul George‘s Podcast P show, Brink credited the Curry family for her start in basketball.
Then I started playing basketball... one of the first camps I went to was Dell Curry's like boys camp...It was really Sonya forcing me to go. I'm so competitive I love mixing it up. So, just fell in love with basketball.Cameron Brink said
Brink revealed that she started with volleyball as she wanted to be different than her family. However, after volleyball and art did not work out for her, Brink’s godmother Sonya Curry pushed the star to try out basketball which eventually the 22-year-old fell in love with. The forward also added that she is now thankful that Sonya encouraged her to play the same sport as her god-brothers.
The decision was certainly right for Brink as the player is one of the favorites among the 2024’s elite draft class. Brink was selected as the second overall pick by the LA Sparks and has had incredible performances since joining despite the team’s losses.
Cameron Brink reveals Steph Curry has not changed since childhood
Growing up with one of the most influential players in basketball, Brink learned a lot from her god-brother Steph. On Podcast P, Brink revealed that Curry has taught her to bring joy to everything just like he does. Brink called him a ‘joy’ to be around because of his positive and funny attitude.
As the families would often go on vacations together, Brink also revealed some childhood stories about the Warriors guard. While talking about their younger days, Brink confirmed that Curry has not changed much over the years.

The Curry family has shown support to Brink every step of the way. With giving advice, Curry has also attended Brink’s college games as she hit important milestones. The LA Sparks star is also expected to have an amazing basketball career similar to her god-brothers.
