Jayden Daniels, drafted second overall by the Washington Commanders in 2024, took the NFL world by storm after taking his team to their first conference championship game in more than three decades. With Madden NFL 26 rolling out its shortlist of players who made the coveted 99 Club, a former NFL athlete, Chad Johnson, is betting Daniels could be next in line for the digital crown next year.

In a recent appearance on ESPN’s Get Up, former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson brought out Jayden Daniels when discussing the potential stars in the making.

I like Jayden Daniels,. For what he was able to do, to come in as a rookie and turn that franchise around like this. And I don’t see him having a sophomore slump. Not with what they’ve done, with the Commanders putting pieces around him to make sure he’s successful.

Chad Johnson noted

The Madden 99 Club is a storied circle of near-mythic talent in EA Sports’ long-running NFL series. In its long storied history, only seven quarterbacks have ever made the elusive list.

There’s no questioning if Daniels get in, he would be attempting to crash a party reserved for modern-day legends. But here’s where things get interesting: Daniels may already have the resume to earn an invite.

Jayden Daniels created a rookie-season worthy to make him a Madden 99 hopeful

The 24-year-old’s stats were impressive to the point of perfection. He threw for 3,568 yards at a 69% completion rate, along with 25 touchdowns and only nine interceptions. His performance also earned him the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year title. However, the greatest achievement of his first season would be the rejuvenation he brought to a dying Washington football market.

The performances have awed many scouts and analysts. One NFL manager hinted that Jayden Daniels is the most poised quarterback in the NFC, triumphing over the likes of Brock Purdy, Jared Goff, and Jalen Hurts.

Jayden Daniels is already the most poised quarterback in the entire NFC. I’ve never seen anything like this for a rookie.

one NFC scout said earlier this summer

Daniels had set a new tone for a franchise long searching for identity under center. Under reformed management heralded by Dan Quinn, Kliff Kingsbury and GM Adam Peters, Daniels operated like a seasoned-veteran. He was no rookie, who was expected to learn on the fly. His poise in the pocket, command over the offense, and ability to adapt against pressure-packed defenses signaled talent.

The Commanders are confident in Jayden Daniels, that they have splurged on the offensive line. They have brought in enormous depth at skill positions and even altered their playbook to better suit Daniels.
