“Can you imagine? I’ll have three, it would be great” Jessica Andrade is interested to fight Zhang Weili and Amanda Nunes
Jessica Andrade is the first woman to win a fight in three different weight classes in UFC; she is the former UFC women’s strawweight champion and now she is aiming to become the second women to hold UFC titles in two different weight classes and Jessica isn’t willing to stop even there.
She entered the title picture of the strawweight division with a win over Katlyn Chookagain, and is expected to challenge Valentina Shevchenko in 2021. In her latest interview with MMA Fighting Andrade told that she wanted to fight for the flyweight title after knocking out Rose Namajunas.
But the promotion paired her up with Zhang Weili and Weili won the championship. Andrade says, “I told Dana White, I told the UFC that right now I’m floating, I’ll be wherever they need me.”
“If I win the flyweight title, I definitely want a chance to fight for the belt with Zhang Weili again and maybe become a two-division champion.” At the same time, Andrade knows that holding two belts at the same time isn’t going to be an easy task.
Talking about Amanda Nunes she added, “It’s easier for Amanda because there are almost no girls at 145, and she fights once a year at 135, At 115 and 125, I would have to fight at least six times a year, so that would be more complicated. But reclaiming the 115 title is definitely something I want really bad.”
Jessica Andrade also has her sight on becoming triple champion
Right now Jessica Andrade is looking to pass the big challenge that is lying in front of her in the form of Valentina Shevchenko. If she wins the fight against ‘Bullet Valentina’ she won’t mind going for the third title also.
Andrade says, “Who knows, maybe I go crazy down the line and want to fight for the bantamweight belt too, right? Anything can happen in life. Can you imagine? I’ll have three, it would be great. A champion in three different weight classes, that will be great.”
