Notably, in a game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets, the famous ESPN commentator Mark Jones stole the headlines for his renowned commentary on Rockets’ Reed Sheppard.

Canadian ESPN announcer Mark Jones is known for using varied calls and sayings when conducting a broadcast. Jones started his poetic phrases early in the first quarter after rookie Reed Sheppard of the Houston Rockets was tripped and dropped by Los Angeles Lakers guard Tommy Kuhse. Jones quickly used his sharp words comparing Sheppard’s drop to Kendrick Lamar dropping his diss track on fellow Canadian rapper Drake.

In the video attracting a lot of attention on social media, Mark Jones said, “Sheppard fell. Got dropped like a diss track, from Kendrick Lamar.” It’s interesting to note that, Lamar and Drake have been at a crossroads in the music industry recently, with both the rappers dropping wild diss tracks on each other over the last 2 months.

Mark Jones aside, Bronny James had an off day against Rockets in the Summer League

The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Houston Rockets 90-88 in the Rockets’ opening game in the Las Vegas Summer League. Notably, the Lakers’ 55th overall pick Bronny James had an off night in particular against the Rockets. Not only that, James also admitted that he “is in a little slump” and would be open to playing basketball at any level for his personal development.

James is shooting 0-for-12 from three-point range and 6-for-26 overall (23.1%) through 3 summer league matches, with two in the California Classic as per ESPN.

Also, a slump in form is normal and would motivate James to do better and showcase his talents in the upcoming matches in the Summer League.
