With each day passing by, the events in and around the NBA on and off the court are getting spicier. Recently, the WNBA legend Candace Parker was involved in a controversial matter revolving around the Chicago Sky star Angel Reese. This was when Parker placed Reese on the “C-Tier” in a tier ranking game she played with Complex Sports, which made headlines.
Soon after the ranking list was posted, the fans were quick to come up with hate and criticism for Parker’s take. However, Parker seems less bothered by this as she doubled down on her rankings list on the recent podcast with Indiana Fever star, Aliyah Boston, called ‘Post Moves.’
That said, Parker’s words do make sense because she was given a list of players like A’ja Wilson, Napheesa Collier, Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Inoescu, Caitlin Clark, Camroon Brink, Asia Wilston, Kelsey Plum, Arika Gumbuwale, and Angel Reese to rank from ‘S-tier to D or E-tier.’ So, she made the decision accordingly as per her facts and stats.
What player(list of players mentioned above) are you taking Angel Reese over, of those that I just listed? We have to come to a place in women’s basketball where we can critique without being a hater.

With this take, Parker is essentially fulfilling her repeated requests. The icon of women’s basketball has pleaded for more criticism of the women’s game’s actual hoops. Parker was repeating what she had previously said to Dwyane Wade about how she thinks the WNBA has been unfairly targeted by misogynistic detractors, making people overly protective of it.
It’s important to note that Parker is someone who is not new to this. She has been on the NBA show with the likes of legendary NBA players Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley on the panel, talking about the biggest stars of the sport. So hate and criticism are something that she is familiar with and has dealt with in the past as well. But her take on Reese seems completely justified because of the players she was told to list up.
MLB broadcaster takes a shot at WNBA star Angel Reese during an ongoing game
Angel Reese’s popularity has reached the MLB, but not in a positive way; in fact, in a negative way. Most recently, Philly’s broadcaster John Kruk took a shot at the Sky player. For context, the Philadelphia play-by-play man Tom McCarthy sent a birthday message to Kruk’s wife during the game, to which McCarthy claimed that his friend(Kruk) was a solid basketball player during his time.
McCarthy also claimed that he missed a lot of shots and Kruk used to clean them up, to which Kruk, aiming jabs at Reese, stated, “There’s someone here in Chicago that does that a lot.”
In response, McCarthy said that ‘she does get her points’, to which Kruk fired back again, stating, ‘she gets her rebounds too.’

This showcases that Kruk clearly aimed a sly jab at the Chicago Sky star, enraging the WNBA fans in the process. However, the fans weren’t the only people who got furious by this. The Sky star, Angel Reese, also chimed in on this matter.
Angel Reese gives a fitting reply to MLB broadcaster John Kruk for his recent jab at her
After John Kruk’s criticism of Angel Reese during the MLB NBC Sports Philadelphia broadcast of the Philadelphia Phillies’ game against the Chicago White Sox, it was certain that Reese would bounce back at his jabs. That’s exactly what she did. The WNBA star took to her ex to put forward her views on this matter.

Just like the MLB broadcasters did not mention any names, Reese also did not mention or take any names in her tweet, but it was certain whom she was hinting at. It also clearly showcases that John Kruk’s statements did not sit well with the WNBA star, as well as with her fans. It remains to be seen how this situation unfolds in the coming days.
