Candice LeRae wins her first SmackDown match after pinning Bayley (via WWE and @iyosthelimit/X)
On the latest episode of SmackDown, Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton were scheduled to face off against Bayley and Naomi. However, Ms. Money in the Bank could not make it to the show, as she was sick. General Manager Nick Aldis decided to go forward with the match anyway. Aldis substituted Candice LeRae for Buff Barbie.
Towards the end of the match, LeRae distracted the referee to allow Indi Hartwell to get involved. She then landed a springboard moonsault on Bayley and shockingly pinned the former WWE Women’s Champion. This was the 39-year-old’s first TV match since June 28th and her first victory on SmackDown after being drafted to the blue brand. Even Jax was astonished after seeing this feat.
Many fans thought that WWE was wasting LeRae’s talent by omitting her from weekly programming and putting her on WWE Speed. She was forced to wrestle for their social media show, which had little significance to the main roster. However, with her victory on the latest episode of SmackDown, the promotion could have much bigger plans for her after all.
Coincidentally, Bayley had previously stated that whenever LeRae got her big moment on the main roster, she hoped that it would be against her. While this victory may not have resulted in any championship victory for the 39-year-old, pinning one of the most popular names in the women’s division is certainly a huge deal.

Candice LeRae beat Iyo Sky in the finals of the recent speed tournament. This led to her being crowned the inaugural Women’s Speed Champion. Despite her not even holding the title for a month, it appears that her tag team partner, Indi Hartwell, could already be jealous of her feat.
Indi Hartwell uploaded a hilarious social media clip to her X account ahead of the latest episode of SmackDown. The video featured the two tag team partners entering adjacent stalls in a women’s restroom. A few seconds later, the Australian rushed out and screamed, “Time!”
Candice LeRae casually exited her stall with her Women’s Speed Championship and walked away nonchalantly. Hartwell gave her a confused look and glanced at her title as she started to wash her hands. This was just the latest video in a series of clips posted by the 28-year-old. In these videos, she tries to do everyday tasks faster than her partner.
