It's been over 13 years since the New York Jets made it to the NFL playoffs, but Aaron Rodgers might just change that.

In an interview with Zach Gelb, Brett Favre said that he expects the same from a healthy Aaron Rodgers as what everyone expects from him. The Packers’ HOF quarterback believes that Rodgers can lead the New York Jets to potentially a championship game.
Much less a championship game, the Jets haven’t touched base with a playoff for the last thirteen seasons. Their last postseason appearance came in 2010 when they went down to the Steelers in the Conference finals. Furthermore, they haven’t had a winning season since 2015.
If Aaron’s healthy, I expect what everyone else expects. That he leads that team to potentially a championship. Their defense is pretty darn stout.Brett Favre said

Favre also acknowledged the football knowledge Aaron Rodgers possesses, calling it one of the highest football IQs he’s been around. In the almost half-hour-long session, Favre also talked about the good relationship he shared with Rodgers.
Rodgers is coming off an Achilles injury from a year ago. The QB then limped into the sidelines never to return in the season. The refreshed Rodgers could have a chance at playing a full season for the Jets.

In the interview, Brett Favre also ushered praise for the Jets’ defense line while emphasising the importance of defense. He added that a better defense lineup means a hope, a chance.
Their defense. I don't think anyone can question, whether you, you're familiar with the Jets or not. And when you got a really good defense, you got a chance.Brett Favre added

With Rodgers whom he calls “probably one of the best playmakers at quarterback starting in the league right now” in the mix, one can expect to reach a conference final. Rodgers could come through as New York Jets’ saviour and end their long-standing playoff drought.
Last season, the Jets came second in passing yards and third in total yards allowed per game. In May 2024, Team 33rd’s Dan Pizzuta ranked the defensive line of the New York Jets as the second-best in the league. However, they won’t be without any pressure.
The New York Jets have won both of their preseason games, against Washington and Carolina. They will face city rivals Giants in the preseason finale before opening the regular season against the runners-up.
