The season isn’t going as the Philadelphia Eagles had hoped for as they endured a disappointing loss in week 2. The most frustrating part for the Eagles fanatics is the disappointing results despite being filled with talents and a track record of being Super Bowl contenders.

Sports analyst Dan Orlovsky seems to have found the reason behind the lackluster performances in nine out of the last eleven games. He blamed none other than head coach Nick Sirianni for the loss because of his poor decision-making, which again cost Philly a Monday Night Football game against the Atlanta Falcons by just a single point.

The Eagles have really two issues: One, they can't stop the run at all. Two, I don't trust Nick Sirianni to manage the game. I don't trust him in big situations to make that very big decision of yes or no– do or don’t. Those are the two biggest flaws right now.
Dan Orlovsky asserted on ESPN’s Get Up

The Eagles haven’t been stable for quite some now if eliminating the offseason. However, that doesn’t define their potential as they held an undefeated record for several weeks last season and even though they had a slow start in 2024, they are capable enough to compensate.

What went wrong for Eagles against the Falcons?

As for the play call which made the former NFL player Orlovksy lose his confidence in Sirianni could have easily been the game-winning touchdown. If only running back Saquon Barkley hadn’t dropped it as many highlighted. In the post-game press conference, the star RB took full responsibility for the loss and admitted it was his fault that his team lost the game.

Philadelphia remained strong for most of the game but late in the fourth quarter, as the crucial pass from quarterback Jalen Hurts was dropped, the team trembled. They had to settle for a field goal which landed the ball in the hands of opposing quarterback Kirk Cousins

He wasted no time and scored a touchdown by connecting with wide receiver Drake London, which evened the score. The Falcons scored the victory because of the impressive sequence of an onside kick by Younghoe Koo, resulting in 22-21 feat.
