The highly buzzed fight between Canelo Alvarez and Edgar Berlanga finally took place at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas. The Mexican boxing sensation stood up to his word to secure a victory against his Puerto Rican opponent. Interestingly, it is not Canelo’s victory that is going viral; it s a moment during the bout that drew reactions from the fans.
Ahead of the fight, both fighters drew a lot of criticism, for which they promised to give a memorable show. The fight started with Canelo Alvarez putting pressure on Berlanga. The Puerto Rican seemed quite uncomfortable as the initial rounds unfolded. In one moment of the third round, Canelo landed a clinical left hook on Berlanga, that wobbled him.
Even after some nasty powerful hooks from Alvarez, Berlanga stood strong and landed sly jabs at the Mexican. However, Canelo still dominated all the rounds, according to the judges. Interestingly, there was an in the late rounds, where Alvarez just casually walked as there were only 10 seconds left on the clock.
Interestingly, Edgar Berlanga saw that as an opportunity to jump into Canelo and eventually landed a huge left hook. The fight fans were baffled after seeing that. As such, they questioned what was Alvarez thinking. However, later Canelo seemingly had no trouble winning the fight as he became victorious via unanimous decision.

With that victory, Canelo’s impressive boxing record to 62 wins in 66 fights. As for Berlanga, it was his first defeat in his professional boxing career. Interestingly, several individuals already predicted the Puerto Rican’s loss against Alvarez. As such, they believed Berlanga was an inferior opponent to Canelo.
Even though Berlanga couldn’t do what he promised, the 27-year-old showcased excellent grit in his bout which moved several boxing fans.

Several fight fans gave hilarious reactions to the moment. Most of them highlighted that Canelo must have been thinking of his retirement. Not only that, some even remarks the Mexican boxer of having a CTE where he seemed lost. CTE is a brain condition that most of the combat sports athletes suffer. However, speaking of the fight, Canelo easily defeated Berlanga and is currently looking for more challenges up ahead.
