Chelsea vs Tottenham ends with Spurs winning on penalties. The match ended 1-1 after regular playing time. However Tottenham scored all penalties to progress.

Timo Werner and Erik Lamela secured the respective goals. Moreover Edouard Mendy makes his debut.

First Half

Timo Werner gets on the scoresheet for Chelsea for the first time. The German will be relieved to have secured his first goal. Azpillecueta did a lovely cutback to get past Reguilon and send him into sliding. The ball is collected by Werner and he fires a lovely fierce shot. Goal to Chelsea!

Second Half

Tottenham Hotspur had much kore chances in the second half. Erik Lamela did very well to turn and get a shot. However Mendy makes a lovely save with his legs to deny him.

Reguilon comes in with a shot but that too is denied by Mendy. Moments later the left back gets a chance fur a header but that is wide. Chelsea had lots of chances but squandered them.

However Tottenham do equailise with Lamela. Serge Regulion gets the assist. His pass is slotted at the far post by Erik Lamela. 1-1 the secure after 90 minutes.

Penalties, penalties penalties

Tottenham scored all five of their penalties. Erik Dier, Lamela, Hojberg and Moura and Kane. Moreover everyone except Kane went with the right corner! Fir Chelsea Tammy Abraham, Jorginho, Emerson and Azpillecueta scored.

However it was all down to Mason Mount in the last penalty. But it wasn’t to be fur Chelsea. Mount blast it wide. Tottenham progress through to the next round.
