Trouble seems to follow Michael Bidwill as the owner of the Arizona Cardinals finds himself in the midst of legal troubles after a former personal assistant filed a wrongful discharge lawsuit against him. The complaint is filed by one Brittany Neuheisel.

The complaint alleges that Michael Bidwill ‘unmercifully harassed’ the plaintiff, his assistant at the time to leave the Arizona Cardinals job. The lawsuit further alleges that Neuheisel was being continuously ‘tormented’ for sticking to her family values and her reluctance to participate in illegal conduct.

It claims that the owner was looking to replace her with “someone Young, Beautiful, and Athletic.” Michael Bidwill objected to Neuheisel’s relationship with her kids and grandkids and indicated that they were affecting her performance at the workplace.

As part of her duties, she was required to complete federal and international disclosures relating to Bidwill’s overseas travels on his private jet. The assistant has alleged that the billionaire repeatedly directed her to falsify information on these forms.

Michael Bidwill has a history of being sued for wrongful discharge

The 54-year-old Neuheisel’s complaint alleges that she was tasked with finding him a girlfriend and on one occasion, he asked her to ship a firearm to an acquaintance via FedEx by hook or by crook. The lawsuit comes a year after former Cardinals personnel executive Terry McDonough won $3 million in arbitration for the team’s P.R. assault directed at her after she filed a wrongful discharge claim.

The new lawsuit is filed in Maricopa County Superior Court and includes counts for constructive discharge, wrongful discharge, discrimination based on age, gender, religion, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The Arizona Cardinals immediately issued a response after the lawsuit was filed.

The team stated that they received an email threatening to file a lawsuit unless they were paid a sum of money within one day.

Earlier this week, the Cardinals received an email from a California-based plaintiff’s lawyer. In it, he threatened to file a lawsuit unless the team agreed to his demand for a substantial amount of money by 5:00 p.m. the next day. The team refused and the lawyer has now filed the Complaint.

The Arizona Cardinals stated

The team has strongly denied all allegations made against owner Michael Bidwill and has vowed to fight it on its merits in the courts.
