It has just been a few months since Carlie Irsay-Gordon officially took over as the CEO and part-owner of the Indianapolis Colts alongside her two sisters.
After the death of their father, Jim Irsay, the three were handed down the responsibility of running the football team. Since their father loved his team dearly, the daughters have stepped up to ensure their family legacy lives on.
Women-run NFL franchises have not done very well over the past several years, with the Detroit Lions, New Orleans Saints, Seattle Seahawks, and Tennessee Titans all struggling with them at the helm.
It does not paint a great outlook for women-run teams, but it seems Jim Irsay’s daughters are determined to create history in their own and unique way.
While middle-daughter Casey Foyt has generally stayed out of the spotlight, her older and younger sisters have not shied away from cameras. Kalen Jackson is always beaming and encouraging players, staff, and fans.
Carlie Irsay-Gordon, on the other hand, has taken matters literally into her own hands. She has been seen on the sidelines taking notes and listening to play calls. When asked about her activities back during her introductory press conference, she explained:
I need to learn more about this. I need to be able to say, ‘Is this person full of BS, do they even know what they’re talking about?’

The 45-year-old went on to say that an NFL team is a complex organization, and she wants to learn every bit about it from the depths. Carlie reiterated that she wants that knowledge to make sound decisions, which usually involves millions of dollars.
Tom Brady ranks Colts No. 1 on his Week 8 Power Ranking
Tom Brady knows what it is to be No. 1, as he has been a part of several such rankings in his illustrious career. Now in his second job as a commentator for FOX Sports, he has to use that knowledge and experience to rank teams according to their efforts.
Not gonna lie, didn’t want to do it. But I can’t ignore 7-1. The Colts have arrived, and they have finally become the No. 1 team in my power rankings… With a favorable schedule in the second half of the season, could the AFC run through Indy this year? I feel sick just saying that.
Tom Brady said
From his words, it is evident that the 7-time champion hates talking about the Indianapolis Colts. After all, most of his early career was spent battling Peyton Manning.

However, he stuck to his job and explained that the Daniel Jones-led offense coached under Shane Steichen‘s watchful eyes has led this team to the top of the league.
Carlie Irsay-Gordon’s Colts could cement playoffs with easy remaining schedule
While speaking about the Indianapolis Colts, Tom Brady also mentioned that they have an easy schedule the rest of the season. That is true, as the franchise enjoys the 8th-easiest schedule among all teams.

Even if that may not guarantee success, there is a chance that Carlie Irsay-Gordon and her sisters will be able to turn the tide on women-run football teams.
If the team can play the way they have been, there is a big chance they will earn a playoff first-round bye. It seems their CEO’s deep dive and watchful eyes are pushing the team in the right direction.
