Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti boldly claimed that his side would reach the Champions League final, despite a poor start to the campaign. This comes after the club suffered its third UCL defeat this season, losing 2-0 to Liverpool at the Anfield.
Carlo Ancelotti has come under fire for Real Madrid’s recent dip in form, which puts their hopes of qualifying to the knockout stages of the UCL in disarray. Los Blancos are currently placed in a dismal 24th place on the UCL table with just six points from five matches. In the Spanish league as well, Madrid, despite remaining in the second position on the table, suffered a humbling 4-0 defeat to Barcelona.
It looks difficult for the club to revert back to their old form, with several players injured or out of form. Despite these challenges, manager Ancelotti placed his trust in his players and went on to reveal his ambition for the season in a recent interview.
In a message to Spanish media outlet Caden SER, the Italian firmly insisted that the Los Blancos will reach the 2024-25 Champions League final in Munich, defying expectations. Ancelotti’s confidence is not surprising given this is not the first time that Real Madrid have struggled through the early rounds of the competition and gone on to eventually lift the title.
Tell them anything, but the most important thing is that Real Madrid will be in the Champions League final in Munich.

Having already lost to Lille, Liverpool, and AC Milan in the UCL this season, Madrid will need to win big against their next opponents, Atalanta, Salzburg, and Brest. Meanwhile, the club will next face Getafe in a La Liga encounter this weekend.
Getafe boss Jose Bordalas slams Carlo Ancelotti’s critics ahead of Real Madrid clash
Real Madrid will be back in action in the La Liga as they take on Getafe at home this weekend after a poor UCL outing against Liverpool. However, ahead of the match, Getafe manager Jose Bordalas came out in support of Carlo Ancelotti, slamming his rival’s critics.

Los Blancos’ recent defeat triggered a wave of criticism aimed at Ancelotti, putting his future at the club in doubt. Bordalas, ahead of a match between the two sides, however, backed the Italian. He stated that no one has the right to doubt or question Ancelotti, owing to his past records at the club. Moreover, he pointed to Real’s injury crisis while reiterating his belief in the veteran manager’s capabilities.
I don’t have to defend him. His CV is there, no one has the right to question or doubt him. Last season, with the injuries he had, everyone saw what he’s capable of…

Nonetheless, Ancelotti remains under contract at Real Madrid until the end of the 2025–26 season. In case the club decides to part ways with him, they may look towards former boss Zinedine Zidane to replace the 65-year-old.
