Spanish tennis ace Carlos Alcaraz is playing his first-ever Laver Cup and the 21-year-old has been in a different mood altogether from the start. However, Alcaraz came up with an awkward celebration during his team’s match on the second day of the 2024 Laver Cup that left tennis fans in two moods. While some found it hilarious, some called it embarrassing.
The incident took place when Alcaraz was on the bench during Team Europe’s doubles match. While Casper Ruud and Stefanos Tsitsipas were taking on Ben Shelton and Alejandro Tabilo, Alcaraz sat on the sidelines cheering for his teammates.
However, after one of the points, the Spaniard suddenly jumped out of his seat and started drooling backward. Alcaraz almost became parallel to the ground with his back on the couch. The World No.3 stayed in the position for a few minutes before returning to normal.

As the video of Carlos Alcaraz‘s awkward celebration reached more and more fans, reactions started pouring. There were mixed sets of reactions, with some users praising the Spaniard for keeping it light. However, some felt Alcaraz was spoiling the ‘class’ of tennis.
"What an embarrassment to tennis. Truly ruining the class that this sport used to have," an user on X commented on the post showing Carlos Alcaraz's celebration.
A few more people criticized the 21-year-old for his antics.
However, there was a large section of fans who enjoyed this version of Alcaraz and were happy to see him having fun.
Coming to the tennis part of the 2024 Laver Cup for Alcaraz, the Spaniard defeated Ben Shelton to win two crucial points for his team.
However, Team Europe is still trailing 4-8 with top players like Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev losing their respective singles matches.
