Historic scenes at the 2024 French Open as they witnessed a new champion being crowned and who better than Carlos Alcaraz? The young Spaniard has always idolized Rafael Nadal and was longing for a win here. Last year Novak Djokovic denied him the opportunity, but this time around, he wrote his scripts with his tennis.

After surviving his tough draw, Alcaraz was up against Alexander Zverev in the finals. Despite not being in the greatest of forms physically, the Spaniard managed to take an early lead in the match but still played the chasing game, when he lost the third set after a 5-2 lead.

However, little did he know that Zverev’s luck in the finals was worse than his and the German did not manage to capitalize on his 2-set advantage to win the match. This gave the Spaniard enough chance to bounce back and seal the deal in five sets

After the match, Alcaraz had a few comforting words for Zverev, motivating him to continue his great work which will surely fetch him his desired results.

I know everything you’ve been through the last few years with the injury on this court. The work you put in today to be here in the final has been an unbelievable journey. I’m pretty sure you’re gonna have the chance to win this tournament very soon. Keep going and congratulations.

Carlos Alcaraz dreamt of a Roland Garros title and eventually became the second youngest player to win it

Young Carlos Alcaraz started tennis long ago and had only one aim which was to win Grand Slams. Recently, he broke multiple records by becoming the second youngest player to win the French Open.

However, he had dreamt of this day nine years ago in the junior circuit. Recently a video circulated on the internet where a 12-year-old Alcaraz revealed that he wanted to win the French Open and the Wimbledon. 9-years-later he has both those and is hungry for more.

Now, the Spaniard will head on to the grass courts to try and prepare for a title defense in Wimbledon. Having won there last year, he will have more pressure on him to repeat the same.
