Four-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz recently featured as a guest in Louis Vuitton [Extended]—the Podcast. Alcaraz has been a brand ambassador for the luxury house Louis Vuitton since June 2023.
Among many things in the podcast, Alcaraz discussed how tennis players aren’t really able to celebrate their successes too much. Tennis players play almost throughout the calendar year, on a tight schedule with small gaps between tournaments.
Tennis players can’t celebrate their successes too much because we finish on Sunday, and on Monday or Tuesday you play the next tournament somewhere else in the world. We finish on Sunday evening or afternoon and you fly to the next tournament… Sometimes I take all my luggage to the tournament before playing the final, so I can go straight to the airport right after the tournament.

Alcaraz has, in the first quarter of the year, already competed on four different continents. He started off his season with the Australian Open. Two weeks later he played at the Rotterdam Open, where he won his first indoor title. A week after that, he played at the Qatar Open. He then competed at the Indian Wells Open and Miami Open in March.
After a good tournament, I go out and enjoy myself, but it’s not… you know, it’s casual… I never went to party in Paris, never, or in France.
Carlos Alcaraz added
Prior to the North American swing, he also played an exhibition match in Puerto Rico. Alcaraz even added that he sometimes takes all his luggage to the tournament before playing a final so that he can go straight to the airport right after the tournament.
Carlos Alcaraz defines his tennis style as aggressive
In the podcast, Carlos Alcaraz also talked about his style of tennis. The Spaniard is known not just for being an incredibly talented tennis player but also an entertaining one with an interesting variety of shot selections.

I really want to be aggressive all the time. I have a lot of shots that I can do, depends on the match. I really want to… play big shots, play aggressively—that’s my style.
Carlos Alcaraz added
The 21-year-old defined his style as aggressive and expressed his desire to play big shots. He is well known for his aggressive baseline style of play and a powerful forehand and first serve.
Carlos Alcaraz will next play at the Monte Carlo Masters
Following the Miami Open, Carlos Alcaraz is expected to play at the Monte Carlo Masters, Barcelona Open, Madrid Open, and Italian Open. Alcaraz played only two tournaments in the clay season last year, out of which he won one—the Roland Garros. Alcaraz is also a two-time champion at the Barcelona Open and Madrid Open.

The upcoming clay court season is generating much excitement. There is a lot of expectation upon Alcaraz to defend his Roland Garros title and fare better in the other clay court tournaments compared to his performance in the first quarter of the year.
Apart from the Rotterdam Open, he has struggled a bit to make a mark in other tournaments. In the Sunshine Swing, entering as the two-time defending champion in the Indian Wells, he faced an upset against eventual champion Jack Draper in the semifinals and had a disappointing opening round exit at the Miami Open after losing to David Goffin.
