Carlos Alcaraz has sent a clear message to fans about his partnership with Rafael Nadal at the Olympics. With the Paris Olympics set to commence on July 26, fans have been excited to witness the combo of Nadal and Alcaraz competing to win gold for their country.

Earlier in the year, Nadal revealed that he would not only be taking part in the Paris Olympics but also teaming up with Alcaraz in the men’s doubles. Over the last couple of days, the two have posed for multiple pictures together in their latest gear and have even been practicing together.

While many are expecting them to go all the way in Paris, Alcaraz stated that even though it was a dream pairing, it does not guarantee success.

Playing with Rafa is a dream, but that doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed success. You don’t win medals just because you’re named. It will be a great experience and we have to adapt little by little. I hope we can play many matches together here

The World No. 2 will be making his Games debut this month. Nadal, on the other hand, is a veteran at this level, having already won two gold medals (one in singles and one in doubles) so far.

Rafael Nadal also does not guarantee any success heading into the Olympics

In the same interview, Rafael Nadal was also asked about his doubles partnership with Carlos Alcaraz. Although it has been a fan favorite so far, Nadal also stated that he cannot guarantee anything as they do not have a lot of experience playing doubles together.

I understand the excitement and the excitement of seeing us together, but that does not guarantee success. Carlos has not played many doubles and I have not played many doubles or many singles. It is a different competition.

Alcaraz missed the last Davis Cup and has not had any doubles experience heading into the Olympics. His partner Nadal has barely played a handful of tournaments this year, with his best run coming at the Bastad Open a week ago, where he finished as the runner-up.
