Carlos Alcaraz lost the first set and did not let Daniil Medvedev capitalize on his lead at all. On Friday (July 12), Alcaraz completely outclassed the fifth-seed Russian on the Centre Court in two hours and 55 minutes with a scoreline of 6-7(1-7), 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 to inch closer to his second Wimbledon title.
They played the rematch of the 2023 Wimbledon semifinal which Alcaraz won easily in straight sets. He is now set to face the winner of the second semifinal between Novak Djokovic and Lorenzo Musetti. After the win, the third seed explained how he overcame a tough opponent like Medvedev.

Trying to do different things. Trying not to play long rallies. I tried to hit slices and drop shots and go to the net as much as I could. I tried not to play his game. There were a few points with really long rallies. I tried to play my own game and not go past 10 or 12 shots in the points. It was difficult to break the wall.Carlos Alcaraz said after the match
Alcaraz also brought up football during the on-court interview. He expressed his hope to see Spain win the Euro Cup against England on Sunday but the English crowd at Wimbledon, many of whom are also fervent football fans, did not take it lightly as they started booing him.
Carlos Alcaraz’s record against Lorenzo Musetti and Novak Djokovic
If Novak Djokovic advances to the final, the fans will see a rematch of the 2023 Wimbledon final on the Centre Court on Sunday. Last year, Carlos Alcaraz emerged victorious in five sets to stun the Serb and lift his maiden Wimbledon title.

Against Djokovic, the Spaniard is 2-3 in their head-to-head meetings. They last met in the 2023 ATP Finals semifinal, which Djokovic won in straight sets. Alcaraz and Djokovic have met twice in Grand Slam events and both won a match each. Apart from Wimbledon, they locked horns in the 2023 French Open semifinal.
Alcaraz has clashed with Lorenzo Musetti four times on the ATP Tour and won three matches. The Italian won just the 2022 Hamburg Open and if he reaches the final, he will face Alcaraz for the second time in a major event.
Alcaraz is bidding to win his fourth Grand Slam title, having won the 2022 US Open, 2023 Wimbledon, and 2024 French Open. If he wins on Sunday, he will be 4-0 in Grand Slam finals.
