Carlos Alcaraz booked a spot in a final for the sixth time this season. After successful campaigns on the clay swing, Alcaraz has come close to lifting his fourth grass-court title at the Queen’s Club Championships.
The Spaniard went past compatriot Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4, 6-4 to schedule a clash in the final with Jiri Lehecka, who knocked out home favorite Jack Draper. Alcaraz will be playing a final for the third time on the trot, following the Italian Open and the French Open, both of which he won by beating World No.1 Jannik Sinner.
The 22-year-old defended his title in the clay-court Major after saving three championship points in the fourth set, winning the match after five hours and 29 minutes, which has now become the longest French Open final. Alcaraz, rather than be delighted with his historic triumph, wants to focus on the present- that is, to win the ATP 500 title in London for the second time after the 2023 season.
Winning Roland Garros gave me an extra boost. I had my days to celebrate, and it helped clear my mind. It was like closing a chapter and now starting a new one here in Queen’s. In these tournaments, you have to be very focused and forget the past, be in the present, and be in what’s happening. For me, Queen’s is the most important thing right now.

Alcaraz has met Lehecka twice and both have won a match each. They will be facing each other for the second time this season, following the Qatar Open quarterfinal, which the Chilean ace won. Lehecka is chasing his second title of the season, following his victory at the Brisbane International.
Carlos Alcaraz is on a 17-match winning streak
As mentioned before, Carlos Alcaraz played in the finals of the Italian Open and the French Open before starting his campaign at the Queen’s Club. Alcaraz is on a 17-match winning streak- the best in his career.

I feel good and I’m enjoying my time on the court. I move well and the way I hit the ball gives me a lot of self-confidence. I believe my level right now is very high. Hopefully, I’ll be even better in the final tomorrow.

It was Alcaraz’s fifth consecutive win over the three-time Grand Slam champion and he now holds an 8-4 head-to-head lead over Sinner. The 23-year-old had reached the French Open final for the first time this year and after its conclusion, he arrived in Halle to defend his title.
But the World No.1 was defeated in the second round by 2023 Halle Open champion Alexander Bublik, who later reached the final to schedule a clash with 2021 US Open champion Daniil Medvedev. Sinner could set up a clash with Alcaraz for the third time this season if both of them reach the Wimbledon final.
Before the Italian Open, Alcaraz missed the Madrid Open due to an injury and was defeated in the Barcelona Open final by Holger Rune. He is chasing his fifth title of the season at the Queen’s.
Earlier this year, the five-time Grand Slam champion became a winner in Rotterdam. Then after losing three consecutive tournaments without advancing to the finals, the Murcia native progressed to every final in the clay-court events he played.
Following the Queen’s event, Alcaraz will be gearing up for Wimbledon, which he won in the previous two seasons, by beating Novak Djokovic in both finals. Alcaraz will be aiming to complete the rare Channel Slam for two consecutive seasons.
