Carlos Alcaraz’s Netflix documentary ‘Carlos Alcaraz: My Way’ was released on April 23, 2025. The documentary allows viewers to learn more about the four-time Grand Slam champion and was filmed during his 2024 season. It consists of three episodes- ‘Finding Joy in the Pain,’ ‘I’m Not Rafa’, and ‘My Way’.
Alcaraz has often said that he plays his best tennis when he is happy. Fans love to see him smile on the court. He has also often responded to criticism by stating that rather than winning every tournament, what is more important to him is that he is happy with his level and progress. A good deal of his mentality as a top athlete revolves around his happiness.
I want to sit at the table with the Big Three… but from what I’ve experienced, I’d choose happiness over massive success. Because happiness is already success.

In his Netflix documentary, Alcaraz makes a beautiful remark about success and happiness in the third episode. Although his dream is to sit at the table with the Big 3, he would rather choose happiness over massive success. Happiness is already success, and he further remarks that it is not an easy thing to find.

Alcaraz and his team try their best to make sure that he is happy throughout the tour, as seen in the show. Whether it’s a game of golf or a time off holidaying, Alcaraz tries different things to keep himself calm and happy. He also talks about his preference of living with his family, as he feels happy with them, although the tennis schedule barely allows him to be at home.
Roger Federer shares an invaluable advice with Carlos Alcaraz
In the third episode of the show, fans also get to learn about Roger Federer‘s message for Carlos Alcaraz. Alcaraz met Federer at the Laver Cup, and Federer remarked that they had not met before except for one practice session. Alcaraz seemed awestruck to meet Federer at the Laver Cup and asked the 20-time Grand Slam champion what he did to stay motivated for so many years.

I asked him what he did to stay motivated for so many years. He said, ‘You’ve got to enjoy the journey. You need to have fun in the tournaments wherever you go…Always have something fun to do wherever you go.’
Carlos Alcaraz added
Alcaraz described Federer as someone who is different from the rest, while Federer aptly described Alcaraz as a happy man, like a “kid in the candy store”. Alcaraz also touched upon the pressure and expectations that sometimes fall upon him to match up to the level of the Big 3.
Carlos Alcaraz is awaiting injury results
Carlos Alcaraz is currently awaiting medical test results to determine whether he will be fit enough to compete in the Madrid Open. Alcaraz, who is the second seed at the tournament, took a medical timeout to address pain in his right leg during the Barcelona Open final last weekend before succumbing to Holger Rune. Several people have, however, advised the Spaniard to forgo this tournament and prioritize his health, as he has been overworked by playing 10 tournaments in 12 days.

The Spaniard is due to kickstart his campaign against either Zizou Bergs or Yoshihito Nishioka in Madrid. Alcaraz has already won the Madrid Open twice. He won his maiden title in 2022, defeating defending champion Alexander Zverev in straight sets in the final. Alcaraz was also the first man to defeat Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic in the same clay court event, which he did in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.
Alcaraz defended his title the next year, beating lucky loser Jan-Lennard Struff in the final. This year Alcaraz will be looking to become only the fourth player to win the competition three times. The other players who have won this tournament thrice are Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer.
