World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz is once again in the winner’s circle and competing for major honors. Recently, he reached his third Barcelona Open final as he hopes to win a third title in Catalunya.
Speaking before the final, Alcaraz showed his nostalgic side about Barcelona. The former World No. 1 shared a powerful message to the people of Barcelona and spoke about what the tournament has meant to him.
For me it’s great. Since I was a little kid I was watching the final every Sunday. I played twice in the finals here. Being in the final in Barcelona again means a lot.. in front of my people, in front of my friends who came from Murcia.. of course the people here in Barcelona and Spain. It’s been a really fun and great week. Let’s see if tomorrow we will end the day with the trophy. It’s gonna be tough.
Carlos Alcaraz said in his post-match interview at the Barcelona Open
Alcaraz won titles in Barcelona in 2022 and 2023. Now, as he reaches another final, his clay court dominance continues to grow.

Since May of last year, Alcaraz has won the most matches on clay. His only loss on this surface came against Novak Djokovic in the Olympic gold medal match.
Holger Rune seeks career-defining moment against Carlos Alcaraz
Holger Rune has found his form again after a tough stretch on the ATP Tour. The Danish star has been playing some of his best tennis at the Barcelona Open. With a strong win over Karen Khachanov, 6-3, 6-2, he booked a spot in the final.

This win pushed Rune up to No. 9 in the live ATP Rankings. It’s not yet his career-best of No. 4, but it shows he’s back on the rise. He now looks like a more focused and steady player. After the match, Rune said getting back to the top 10 was a big motivation.
Rune has already beaten Carlos Alcaraz once, back in 2022 during his title run at the Paris Masters. A second win over Alcaraz, this time in Spain, would mean even more. The final in Barcelona is set to be a big test.
A few years ago, Rune was seen as the next big name in tennis. But since then, Alcaraz has taken the spotlight, winning four Grand Slams. Rune admitted last December that some of his own choices had slowed his progress. Now, he’s working to change that.
Carlos Alcaraz takes center stage in his new documentary series
Carlos Alcaraz is set to return to Netflix, this time in his own spotlight. The 21-year-old tennis star, who previously featured in the Break Point series, will now lead a new documentary titled Carlos Alcaraz: My Way.

The three-part series premieres on April 23. It will follow Alcaraz’s journey through the 2024 tennis season, both on and off the court. Viewers will get a closer look at his personal life and what drives his success.
The documentary captures major moments from last year, including his Grand Slam victories at the French Open and Wimbledon. It also covers his time competing at the Paris Summer Olympics. Fans can expect an inside look at one of tennis’s brightest stars, showing not just his talent, but the mindset and hard work behind it. The Spaniard is looking to write more history in the coming years.
